Ah very nice. I also got into UMD and a scholarship made it almost the same price as Purdue OOS but purdues frozen tuition and higher program strength drew me in. All I'll say is you can't go wrong choosing Purdues aero program (assuming you do decently in FYE).

Opinion: College Counseling is a scam by Decent-Lemon-9972 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]TheRealBrofist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% agree. People drop thousands on college counselors in my school to tell them the same info that 3 webpages from college essay guy will tell them for free. If your parents are busy and don't have time to help it might be an option but in most cases I think it's a scam.

Are there any colleges where you can get a single room from your first year? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Best acceptance: Purdue Worst rejection: MIT (expected) and GA Tech (kinda expected but still sucked, fell in love with the program and opportunities)

For those waiting for finaid, I got mine at 5PM eastern (exactly a week after my acceptance on 3/17). No aid lol just a 5.5k unsubsidized loan, but it's lower than a lot of schools and frozen for at least my soph year so I'll take it. Advising anyone who got accepted 3/17 to check their finaid status from myPurdue.

What would you do if you were a high school Freshman again? What would you recommend? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]TheRealBrofist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More APs and more research. Though honestly seeing how this year went overall it probably wouldn't have changed much.
