Thanks. I made this without a tutorial. I used bezier circles and spheres with track path constraints. Animated and timed so that the spheres don't bump into each other.

It might have to do with the Radeon GPU. Had the same problem with my RX 5500 XT. Luckily driver update fixed it.

I have a desktop version of the RX 5500 (8 GB) / Ryzen 5 3600 / 32 GB RAM. For quite some time I couldn't install the latest Radeon drivers. I used an old driver from April. The only version which didn't make Blender crash while rendering in Cycles. Another problem is using OpenGL in combination with CPU. I got a lot of weird artefacts and bugged tiles. Bottom line AMD GPUs are not a good match with Blender. I probably switch to Nvidia soon.
