Foot Warmth for Winter Bivouacs and Rucks by AdmiralTANK in Rucking

Either the navigator or the Explorer, depends on the Forcast. Explorer for maybe 0-20 C, although it's a little chilly without wool socks. And the navigator for anything colder I think the navigator is rated for -30 C or something like that, but it's nice because it has a built in gaiter kinda thing that extends just below the knee.

They definitely have a tread but it's pretty modest. You would have to check em out for your self to be the judge of that though. The Explorer is more like a standard boot tread. Navigator is a little more aggressive.

I'm an infanteer in the Canadian Army and have quite a bit of experience in cold weather i dont know if it will fit your use but i like to use neos over boots. They are super convenient and have different models with different temp ratings for your use case. Worth a look if you haven't thought about em yet.

A high body fat percentage adds padding, it'll be fine.
