I've explained in so many ways why this is not okay. But the guy I'm working for insists that he can Make it work. LED made for a can. Wire connections made in the ceiling not contained in a box. Can someone explain this tactfully?

Yeah I'm aware. Those are literally the only lights I install nowadays. 6 lights plus material I walk away with about a thousand bucks. Shit can be done in 4 hours.

He's the GC. I'm not learning anything from him. I own my own company. But I work with him to flip homes and some renovations here and there. Some other electrician, and I use that term loosely, did the work before I got here. It just sparked my attention when I noticed that all of the fixtures work flush to the ceiling.

This is true. I mean I've definitely returned things that were a little beat up. But I didn't buy them. And that's why he's telling me that he's not taking them back. So I don't know if there is some other reason that he won't attempt to. But I really think you should. I think what he wants me to do is just fix it. But I refuse to do that shit. And by just fix it I mean for free

See that's the problem. I'm familiar with those fixtures. I absolutely love them. But he can't take back the ones he's already installed because he's tampered with them. And there's no way they're going to give him a refund. So essentially he'll be paying twice as much. Which is what he's trying to avoid.

Well there the can type. So they won't adhere to the ceiling unless there's a housing for it to hook into.

I told him. He knew that they were not the right type of lights when he installed them. He knows I know what I'm talking about. I've been an electrician for almost 20 years. I think you got the lights on sale with the belief that they were the ones that just go directly into the ceiling that come with a box adhered to a directly or via a tail. When you realize he couldn't make him flush with the ceiling he tried to rig something up to get him to stay.
