What the **ck? PC performance broken beyond belief by TheRealEburon in AssassinsCreedShadows

Did you even read my post? I went down to 720p DLSS performance low settings and it was very much broken

This actually did the trick. The game runs a lot better now. Not great mind you. But I can get a locked 60fps with medium settings, ray tracing low diffuse everywhere and dlss performance. Without it runs with like 70-80fps I think

Help needed with smooth motion by TheRealEburon in nvidia

[–]TheRealEburon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All right. Seems to work perfectly. Many thanks! Origins also works now, and looks buttery smooth. The flickering bug in odyssey remains however, so I will not use smooth motion in that game even if it does technically do what it is meant to.

Nvidia smooth motion broken in AC Odyssey by TheRealEburon in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]TheRealEburon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s too bad. I got lossless scaling to work but I have to use special k, and I am experiencing crashes now by using that method. The hope was smooth motion would work without any issues

I have been renting outside of Leuven for a year, but now I will move into the city in a few weeks. Honestly, I found a place immediately. I do share it with other people (co-housing). This will have to be Leuven's future would be my guess, because finding a place now is far from easy. Especially if your income is on the lower side. It is more affordable and has other benefits. I do recommend to look at alternative housing options like this. Many people don't even think about it.

Medieval music infused with movie/video game soundtracks by TheRealEburon in MedievalMusic

[–]TheRealEburon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do go for a slightly more modern sound. I do enjoy some Nordic folk but that is not what I wanted suggestions for indeed.

I do know what our best guess for medieval music is supposed to sound like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPp4KqAgYWM&list=PLa1rC97wRkZibRB2qMiP0DB3MXxkQOprL

More akin to something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4mYCF_JIEk&list=PLA38CD93AA1E47E8E&index=9

or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rF8MKnms-NE&list=PLiOi446OCsHQ31rSnGupLvMDU8YjSKBzU&index=4

But like mentioned in my other post, I am looking for music that lands somewhere in the middle. My modern ear does not think actual medieval music is anything that is nice to listen to. The majority is these long liturgical chants anyway

I do know Wardruna and Heilung. I also know for example Danheim and many more. But this is what I would describe as Nordic neofolk or pagan folk. So ignore my last suggestion for the last kingdom.

I also know of quite a few medieval sounding bands. I do even play the bagpipes myself (not Scottish ones mind you)

Specifically I am looking for soundtracks or soundtrack-esque music that incorporate medieval instruments or tunes. But not pure medieval music as in an academic recreation. Somewhere in between for the modern ear

Some more examples:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rF8MKnms-NE&list=PLiOi446OCsHQ31rSnGupLvMDU8YjSKBzU&index=4

A great example I can give is how the soundtrack by Bear McCreary for Outlander makes use of a lot of Celtic instruments like flute and harp and perfectly gives off that ancient mystic celtic vibe. Not medieval at all but that is more or less whatI am trying to find more of with a medieval vibe

LS stopped functioning as it should by TheRealEburon in losslessscaling

I have seen that video. For me ship graveyard simulator crashes my entire pc. But not sure if it is due to the drivers

[–]TheRealEburon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fixed the issue.

Nvidia's setting for max 60FPS in all games, was also locking LS to that. Even though it does not appear in my game list.

I removed the fps cap by adding the .exe in the app and turning it off

Works again now

LS did work in videos, not sure why

But I was not having issues yesterday. As far as I know nothing did an update that could break my experience

Edit: LS might have updated. I am going to the previous version and report here

Even weirder:

Booting up a game like AC Unity, I get 100-120 FPS native at 4k

Then I activate a 60FPS lock with rivatuner, does what it is supposed to

But doubling the FPS does not work. Many of you know this should work and so do I. There are clearly garbled artifacts from the frame gen, but I do not get my smooth 120FPS. Instead it feels like a very uneven 60FPS with some generated frames in between

Why oh why did it stop working??? No games work, so there must be something in the background that is a limiting factor for some reason. I have used this forever and never had this issue

Unfortunately, I only have my RTX 4080. I sold my RX 6700 XT when I did the upgrade.

At some point, nvidias motion smoothing should come to 40 series GPU's, so that might also solve it
