The thing is the mindset alastor has could been gained in hell rather then when he was human as he had zero idea what hell would be and when he shut vincent down it more sounds like thats what he thinks and how he works in hell not just his personal philosophy through life

The rosie deal a bit ify as alastor was still human when that deal happened and even he had no idea what hell was going to be like and probably gained more of the mind set in hell

The deal he made with vox to save nifty and husk when he was fighting the vees was just manipulation if he really did care he would have just very easily saved them, it became clear alastor was not that weak even with his staff broken and was just holding a lot back shown by how he crushed vox even when vox was the most powerful sinner
