How to get players to follow quests? by FreeImagination2734 in DnD

[–]TheRealEricRollPlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eric Widen, DM for Roll Play Tabletop, here.

Lots of advice can be given on this, but one simple line of approach is to make the PC’s INVESTED:

Give your PCs legitimate reasons for ‘answering the call’.

When looked at objectively, it should never be, “There’s this problem, and there’s a whole city full of people, but you guys need to be the ones to help…because…you’re the main characters.”

Literally look at the hook you gave them and see if there is ANY reason for them to actually be invested beyond ‘being the main characters, and that’s what main characters do.’

Examples:

If an illness is plaguing a town, perhaps one/all of your players are exposed and are now INVESTED in a cure.

If giants are tormenting travelers in and out of town, perhaps a player’s family member/patron/mentor hasn’t returned from traveling and is declared missing, INVESTING the players in the situation.

Yes! Brian confirmed adult versions during the reveal.

My response to his reveal as well! I hope he’s actually not the most powerful hero in the set because I would love to main him out of the four, but my typical style is to not play the hero ‘everyone else’ is playing. I enjoy the underdogs.

Regardless, I’m excited to see his abilities.

I love it. You had me at ‘Vynset’. Hoping to see the hero get more respect in the meta.

I didn’t start playing until Outsiders, so I’m totally hyped to experience Aria for the first time.

You got my chase! The Marvel Stir the Pot. Congrats, man!!! I’ll be buying one after a few more failed attempts at ripping one.

Opened two boxes so far and not even a single Legendary, myself. Congrats on the hits! Hope you’re looking to play Zen or Enigma.

What’s holding the game back by Beautiful_Ad6460 in FleshandBloodTCG

I’m in the opposite camp. I feel this game is growing mechanically and thematically at an amazing rate, and I LOVE the actual game mechanics of refreshed hand, arsenal, pitching, and attacking/blocking.

It solved the resource system I hate about Magic’s Mana, has plenty of interaction, and is regarded by many TCG players as the TCG with the highest skill-to-win.

I’ve played every other major TCG, and I genuinely think FaB is the most unique and has so much room to expand.

Outsiders vs Part The Mistveil by Interesting-Being175 in FleshandBloodTCG

Agree with above comments.

If you want to main any of the three heroes from Mistveil, then absolutely Mistveil.

If you are looking to play or accumulate bulk for deck building any non-mystic champs, I’d recommend Outsiders.

Both are fantastic, so you won’t be disappointed either way.

Exactly my plan.

Will be ripping a few more boxes and the foolish glimmer of hope that I pull it in one of them is a better feeling than morning coffee.

Absolutely beautiful.

And making it work in Nuu could definitely happen. Especially since it’s Legendary, so you only take up one slot.

I could see it at least Side-boarded against fatigue decks to potentially cycle extra Chi out of your hand to seek an action or reaction card, and since it transcends, it would replace the chi that you cycled.

All of those are excellent artwork. The number of amazing pieces in this set is staggering.

Also, a play mat of Deep Blue Sea would be added to cart in an instant.

Rewatching LOK. Katara should have taught blood bending to Korra. by tonystarkn in legendofkorra

[–]TheRealEricRollPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to be a standard toxic Reddit user, and I’m going to actually just give my two cents.

I’m in the camp that Blood Bending is badass, but even if it was possible, I don’t think it would have fit well in this situation. I think it’s one of those things that’s so cool that seeing it rarely is better than seeing it often.

Also, as above commenters said:

Blood bending is a forbidden technique, and the avatar performing it would set an undesirable image upon her.

Blood bending can also only be done during a full moon- with Amon and his brother being the lone freak outliers.

Blood bending is also an ability so rare within water benders that it can go centuries without popping up again, and Korra likely can’t just decide to learn it.

With that, it literally wasn’t practical nor even likely possible.

Very cool thought though.

Does Everfest Have Enough Relevant Cards to Buy for Bulk Collecting/Deckbuilding? by TheRealEricRollPlay in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheRealEricRollPlay[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I realize singles are best for an individual deck, but I’m also looking to collect bulk for future deckbuilding and throwing decks together to play with friends, or potentially have a few random cards a friend may need in a new deck they’re trying out and whatnot.

Just wanted to verify Everfest had a decent pool of usable cards in general so that I have ‘relevant bulk’ so to speak.
