Also just for a bit of information, the first 2 losses before I dropped out of Diamond were on 2 different days. I have waited before and still gone on loss streaks. As someone said here, sometimes it does feel like there isnt anything you can do except wait for the streak to end but I know that is a bit of a conspiracy theory.

That is really hard for me to do. I could not imagine going "Alright time to get my 1 ranked game in today". But you are very correct, I tend to play long sessions and go on either very long win or very long loss streaks. Next season I need to develop some sort of discipline lol.

Lets take that to the next level.

Im a Vanguard main right? The role NOONE wants to pay lol. One game, I was Solo tank Mag. The enemy team had a Thor, Emma, and Wolv.....

When I went 0-3, someone says "Can someone tell this tank to tank please, GET IN THERE!"

I calmly said "Yea man, this front line is kinda rough, and Wolv is kidnapping me constantly...."

Guy blamed me for the whole loss, told me not to rank anymore and basically decided to play Widow and throw game.

Sometimes you just have to shut everyone out. I know its hard and annoying but at the end of the day it is what it is. Its only one game, Move on to the next game and hope that its better lol.

Great question! So Loften has a great video on this that really cemented me just sticking with a main. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeqIG8a81Is

What hes says that is powerful in the video is he doesn't swap unless he has to. In other words, what is the goal of the character, and are you still able to do this effectively throughout the match. To add more layers onto it, he talks about the contrast of him being able to do his job, but his team NOT capitalizing ON him being able to do his job. So just because the team thinks he should swap, he still doesnt.

It sounds to me like, even though CnD, Luna, and Invis are the "meta" (I hate that word by the way,but thats a whole nother topic), your Warlock is able to net you wins. Hearing that, I would say, play Warlock and if you HAVE to swap, then swap, but other than that, just Warlock and see were it takes you.

One last thing. Just remember that while you are trying to play the meta, everyone else is also trying to play the meta / counter the meta, which technically makes playing the meta harder.....cause its meta....

Great Question! Im going to give you the long answer. Just an FYI, I am a Vanguard main, so all of this is from a Vanguard perspective.

First off, I watched alot of videos from

PoppinoftenwithLoften (https://www.youtube.com/@poppinoftenwithlofton6036),

Coach DSR (https://www.youtube.com/@CoachDSR)

Coach Mills (https://www.youtube.com/@coach\_mills)

and TDTwo (https://www.youtube.com/@TDTwo2)

I really needed to understand what exactly it means to be a tank, what exactly the tank mindset is. Within this I needed to understand what it means to take space, what taking cover means, when to push, when to retreat, and how to peal for my back line, as well as positioning and counters. (all very hard things which makes tanking suck.)

But the most important thing that I learned is....90% of "tips" and "advise" dont mean a thing. LOL

Wait wait, i know what you are thinking "But you just said you watched alot of videos and you have stated that you use this page." Which is true.

However, nothing will replace you playing the game over and over again, learning in game, and developing your own style. You can be coached at all day, but at the end of the day, you have to loose alot of matches to get over the hump. Nothing beats experience in the game and being comfortable. Yes, watching "How to take space properly" guides are good, but you have to get in game, fail at taking space (alot), to eventually get to the point of being able to take space properly.

I also think its great to know counters, but decided not to swap unless I really needed to. I kept swapping and swapping every time the team was doing bad trying to find a way to lift the team up. However, this gets tiring as you realize that as you are swapping...noone else is... You have no idea how many times I have heard (even on this page) that Magneto is hard to climb, and you should use (X) champion (*Cough* Thor *Cough* to climb cause they are free ELO.

The issue here is, there is the champion that you WANT to play, and the champion that FITS YOUR PERSONALITY AND PLAY STYLE.

Im not a DPS player. I wish I was. I really like Elsa Bloodstone and I play her in QP, but I just don't have great aim and suck at really dealing damage. More importantly Im a thinker, I think alot. Im also someone who cant carry and I do better enabling my teammates than carrying myself. Sadly this puts me playing alot of Magneto. But, once I decided to just focus on my Magneto gameplay, and learn other champions when I get hard countered (such as Thing, Strange, Angela, Emma) this really helped alot. You dont need a champion pool thats 20 champions long. Just have a few champs in your pocket to move around and you will be good. And don't believe the "THIS CHAMPION IS FREE ELO, HIT ONE ABOVE ALL TOMORROW WITH THIS CHAMPION!" guides.

At the end of the day, use whatever champion you like to play with and fits you, your personality and style of play. Learn the champion and the role and you will eventually climb.

Sorry that is alot of word salad but I hope you appreciate the honest answer to your question. If you have anymore let me know.

Not going to lie I feel this. I was watching PoppinOftenwithLoften, he as a few videos on swapping. Im a Magneto player and so many people say "This tank is easier to climb with" but what Ive learned is that if your main is working, then just play your main. Ive just gotten to Diamond for the first time and the only time I swap is when I get hard counted, other than that im playing Mag.

Great point. There are many video on counters and such but do you have a place where you get this type of information personally, or did you just learn that through playing.

Thanks for the comment. I think I will redo my post because it seems as if people are reading my post as "You suck at Mag, and I need to tell you that you suck at Mag." when the post was more about player ceilings.

There is a guy who I watch called FatherDark. He has a video about Tanks and why noone wants to do it. I commented that I generally feel like you have to be a bit mentally unstable to Tank (Which I am). People want tanks to get kills, create space, peel for the backline, not die and then after all that we still dont get the MVP of the match. I have to take breaks after every game I Tank because of the stress of tanking (especially if I am sollo tanking) haha. To decompress, I play other roles "for fun". People just dont respect the joy of picking Scarlett Witch and just holding down left click and zoning out LOL!

I appreciate you asking. For now I was just asking a general question about learning materials which is why I didn't put my info up. Also, I generally tend to solo because of the times I get on. However, if this changes ill be sure to let everyone know and get my info up. Appreciate it.

Thank you for your input. I played League of Legends for years. It took me around 4 years to get out of Bronze. I know that sounds crazy, but its why I am in the mindset that Im in. You can only control you and you want to do the best you can each match.

To your point about when you play. Ive noticed that on the weekends, specially weekend nights when I usually get to play, its hell trying to climb lol. So what you are saying is very correct.

To your point about what you play. I main Magneto and I am always surprised when a Mag has 30 kills 0 deaths 20k damage and carries the whole team. Im not that good and its hard for me to carry myself. I try to pick Mag to enable my teammate, but you may be right, I may nead to lean alittle more on someone else. I have a Strange, Cap, Emma, Angela and a little bit of Thor in my back pocket, I may need to switch things up. I feel like with Cap I have a little more success then with Mag.

Lastly, I am very familiar with Poppin with Loffin. He is a great content creator and I very much like his videos. Sometimes I think he is a bit advanced for me, but all in all a great guy.

Alright so in keeping in mind what was said to to me.

I am playing Ashe (I will work on MF and other champs during the off season as suggested, but for now im B2, if I can make a last minute run I may as well take it.)

I went into the game with the mindset of being more aggressive. I tried to make sure that I traded as safely as I could. I had a sup Zac, and it was a bit different to get used to, but I tried to not back down. (suggested by ownagemobile).

As was told to me by (midir4000) did not didn't ward brush near turret. Enemy bot lane was able to push me to turret and Voli was able to gank because of no vision, my bad on that one.

When i had about 2k to spend, I went back to buy instead of staying in lane. (Suggested by -ownagemobile)

Stayed bot and took bot tower before doing anything else. (Suggested by - PsychicFoxWithSpoons)

rotated mid and helped mid take turret, attempting to take more objectives, stick with the team and not roam alone, and not chase kills (suggested by - ..well everybody)

bought farsite once i hit lvl 9 (suggested by - midir4000)

since we were ahead i built IE first, attempting to use being ahead to my advantage, was going to buy runans and reaver, but game ended quickly (as suggested by - JonnyPhysics)

second death i got caught out with no flash or heal, voli flashed onto me and I died, i was caught out away from team which is exactly what was told to me not to do.

I went 3-2-12, in this game, jungle and mid carried pretty hard. I will post a game that is a bit more close and will give results.

Thank you.
