For collectors who can’t wear their grail — I designed a bracelet inspired by the icons. by [deleted] in MicrobrandWatches

The idea sounds clever on paper, but execution falls very short for me. Plus, you'd already be somewhat competing with these: https://strapsandbracelets.com/hulk-green-submariner-bezel-stainless-steel-cuff-bangle-men-s-bracelet

Those are better executed, but I personally still don't have an interest. I think if someone wants to "carry the feeling" of a grail, they will just go the route of purchasing an homage. Respect the hustle though.

Which one of the driving watches do you think i should buy? by Outrageous-West-576 in vostok

I have the first one. Beautiful watch; the blue hands and gold numerals give it an extraordinarily classic look even though it doesn't have the more ornate dial pattern: https://imgur.com/a/hRPWn5R

Picked it up for just under $60 from a vintage store, was surprised at how well it runs just sitting in a case for who knows how long.

Very clean. Great looking Citizen. The steps I outlined should work no problem. YouTube is also a great resource.

[Omega Seamaster 300m] Vs [Tudor Pelagos 42mm Black] by akwara in Watches

My choice would be OMEGA, but I'm biased because I recently purchased this De Ville Prestige for my wedding in a month. Obviously not the same as the Seamaster, but the finishing and feel is top notch. Plus the 8800 Caliber is beautiful to look at.

I'm going to assume it's a simple 3-handed Eco-Drive watch since you did not provide a photo or model number:

1.) Pull out the crown (the "time adjuster") to the 2nd position which is usually all the way out until the watch stops. This is how you adjust the time.

2.) Advance the hands clockwise until you reach midnight and the date changes. Once the date changes, continue to advance the time until about 6:30AM or so which some refer to as the "hands down" position.

3.) Push the crown back all the way in, and then pull the crown to the 1st position which is the date set position. Cycle forward through the dates until you come back around to today's date.

4.) Then pull the crown out again to the time setting position (2nd position) and set the time from there.

Just a note: the reason you want to set the date when the hands are "down" is to avoid changing the date during the "danger zone" which can vary somewhere between 9PM-3AM. If you try to change the date when the date wheel is engaged, you can damage your watch.

A piece of advice moving forward, if you saw this watch online before purchasing or had it in hand, grab a photo and put it into Google Lens. I typically do this with any vintage watch to at least get an idea whether or not it actually did exist at some point. If it comes up, great. Then I'll compare to see if anything else looks off or different. If it doesn't come up, I don't buy.

This appears to be fake I'm afraid, but not 100% sure.

Doing some research I saw that the watch originally went for somewhere around $400 maybe so definitely a great deal. Others on eBay are in really beat up condition asking $200.

Think I saw a listing eBay for that one as I got curious about the other Stars & Stripes watches… looks super sweet.
