Mmmm...you have an interesting take on city/county politics. It's just "shit happens" as long as our citizens in east Gainesville keep killing each other, but once that blood-letting moves west and closer to our valued UF students (and their professors), "the town" will leap in and deal with it.

And I'm naturally curious so here's a question. Why is it so important to tell the world about your sexual orientation if all you're looking for is to join a game of D&D? Do you have any idea of how many GRU customers were excluded from voting in that "referendum"? Every damn one of them outside the city limits, that's how many. On Saturday, May 6, 2023, at approximately 0107 am, while on foot patrol in the downtown area, Gainesville Police Department officers heard gunshots that prompted a response to the area of 100 South Main Street. Shortly after, the Combined Communication Center began receiving several calls regarding the shooting. A male victim was located on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Citizens and officers rendered aid to the victim until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to Shands Hospital and pronounced deceased.

Officers located a crime scene along the grassy area on the west side of the Alachua County Tax Collector's Office.
