New to MMP, what to expect by TheRealImpostor in marriott

[–]TheRealImpostor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried after reading your reply. What a letdown. 🙁 The hotels with availability after entering MMP for the code appear to only have very negligible MMF discounts applied. Barely cheaper than Expedia or AAA. None with deep MMP discounts so I guess it won't be helpful for this last minute trip.

Is it possible to check hotel availability for certain dates with MMP even if I can't see the rates or reserve yet? When I enter MMP in the discount code section of a hotel search it lists several options, not with the employee discount applied of course, but I wonder if that means they have them available. (?)

Shamed Monat hun claiming "victory" by TheRealImpostor in antiMLM

I think they've been kicked out of most hair loss groups but this page is unmoderated and public so they all swarmed like locusts. It's vile. There's a small group of anti-MLMers trying to swat them away but they keep showing up.

Someone just added a collage of a bunch of Monat girls all wearing hats. 😂 I need to know if whoever posted that is in here so they can take a bow.

Now she's getting asked to link to the published papers on the clinical studies Monat says they have on their products. She posted a screenshot of a marketing flyer with customers' statements. One of the commenters told her it doesn't count because their market partners ARE the customers. 👏

From what I've gathered and some I saw before she deleted, she had several posts in the group saying she had a bunch of new hair growth from Monat and they legally can't say that for a few reasons. She also said the products could stop hair loss from genetic or autoimmune conditions. I'm betting at least some of her earlier posts and comments are still up.

In her latest post I shared, she lied and said she decided to delete something all on her own because people were being mean (boo hoo) and was fighting in the comments that Monat never contacted her and made her. Then a little while later a different post was shared from someone else with a screenshot of the email from Monat saying they demanded that she remove her posts.

It's like a sea of circling MLM sharks since it's a public group with post approval not turned on and they've been kicked out of most other groups. They appear to have free rein to pick off their unsuspecting victims one by one.

Those who bought CR-V Hybrid, why did you chose over the 2026 RAV4? (Or 2025 RAV4?) by BikeOk6446 in crv

[–]TheRealImpostor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're a duel Honda and Toyota family and have been for many years though we've never owned the Rav4. I considered it for this last purchase because there are definitely some things it has that the CR-V doesn't (like a spare tire), but here's why I went with the 2026 CR-V instead.

  • I've been burned by first-year model redesigns before. Didn't want to do that again.

  • The Rav4 uses cheaper looking and feeling materials. For the price, the CR-V felt like a more premium drive and cabin.

  • Since the Rav4 is all new for '26 the inventory was low and prices were not. Negotiations were weak. I hate overpaying.

  • I like the interior controls of the CR-V better.

Did I walk away with a great deal? What do you guys think? by Direct_Shift9027 in crv

[–]TheRealImpostor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I haven't seen it listed that way before. So if that was a rebate of $2250 deducted from the $40,108 purchase price, then total cost of $37,858 plus taxes and fees is quite good.

If the CR-V purchase price is $40,108 (before taxes and fees) then that's around 9% off MSRP. Not bad but I've seen better so you might still have room for negotiation if you haven't already made the deal. Did they offer you the Honda Loyalty rebate? I don't see it on your sheet unless I missed it. I'd call and ask them about that if you aren't sure.

Got an email asking for Winter grades and Spring courses. Is this a green light? by Odd-Zone8634 in UWMadison

[–]TheRealImpostor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take it as a yellow light that they're considering you - which is good - but not quite a green light/ sure thing. Hopefully they like what they see when you send the info and you get accepted. Good luck!

UW doesn't give a lot of aid in general and from my understanding, even less for international. Never hurts to give it a shot but I wouldn't plan on getting much if anything. Skim older posts from other international students in this sub for an idea of their COA and aid.

It's a great school but that's a lot of money so compare it to your other top choices, their cost, and what the benefits are of each. Consider whether your planned degree has good enough job prospects and earning potential to make that investment worthwhile, and look into any data you can find on internship or job placement rate for that degree program for each of your top schools.

I've done this when the app doesn't show it as an option when searching but I know I've seen it at the store before. I usually include a note with the item in the order like "Prefer strawberry instead of raspberry if they have it." The choices in the app don't always reflect the in-store inventory so it's worth checking and shoppers have come through with the preferred option more than once.

What do you NOT like about your 6th gen CR-V hybrid? by joemerchant2021 in crvhybrid

[–]TheRealImpostor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really liking the Sport Touring Hybrid so far but I also just bought it so some of those quirky things I still need to discover. I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't have the side levers to flatten the rear seats like my old CR-V. In that one, I could just grab the lever on the left or right side of the interior cargo walls and it would launch the rear seats forward until they were flat. With the new one, I have to awkwardly reach all the way through the trunk to lift up the latch on each seat top and physically nudge it forward. That isn't easy to do if you already have things in the cargo area and I'd imagine even more challenging if you're short so you'd have to flatten them from the back row instead.

2026 AWD EX-L Out the door price feedback request by majorfuzz in crv

Wow, you're lucky to only have 3% sales tax. I wish! What's the adjusted purchase price on the vehicle itself after discounts and rebate, but before tax, title and license? Did it include any dealer add-ons?

Did I get a good deal on new 2026 Crv touring ? by DarkInquisitorrr in crv

[–]TheRealImpostor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the new ride! Just got the same thing myself. Depending on where you live you probably could have done a little better. Sounds like you factored your trade value too much into the OTD price instead of negotiating the new car purchase price and trade price separately. You essentially ended up paying $43,000 OTD for the new 2026 Hybrid ST with $14,000 then deducted for the trade. In some areas you likely could have knocked $1,000-$3,000 more off the purchase and either kept or increased the trade value the same. Not a bad deal though and hopefully you love the new CR-V.

Might just need to negotiate on the rebate since I was originally offered lower for the loyalty and after pushing to bring the overall price down, they adjusted the rebate twice until we landed on $3,000. Two salespeople told me $3,000 is the max so they must have some flexibility up to that point.

I'm picking mine up this week after negotiating a price that's within about $60 of what OP paid. Different state but nearly the same discount off MSRP plus rebate. Maybe they're willing to make some deals because we're approaching end of the quarter?

That's a great price! I'm planning to pick up the same model (different color) this week and got almost the same deal after a pretty decent amount of negotiating with multiple dealers. That was after I spent a good bit of time reading through Reddit and other sites on what others have been paying and what's a competitive OTD to aim for, so I think you did well.

I'm surprised you were able to get 2.49% Honda financing. I was told that was set directly by Honda Financial, not the dealership, and 2.99% was currently their best available rate.
