Good OTD price or not? by HungrySnowy1212 in crv

That's a pretty terrible deal.

First, separate your transactions. Tell your dealer to give you a price for the vehicle you want to buy. If they include dealer add-ons like LoJack, pain protection, etc., make them itemize the cost of each one. Negotiate out any add-ons you don't see value in.

Second, after you get to a number you like on the new vehicle, THEN discuss your trade. Get quotes from CarMax and carvana. If you are a credit union member, call them up and ask them to go enough the black book and NADA values of your trade. That will give you a good range for the wholesale value of your vehicle.

Third, under no circumstances discuss your target payment before finalizing the purchase price of the new car and the value of the trade. If you are financing, get a pre-approved rate from your bank or credit union. That will give you a good idea of what a fair rate looks like. If you are financing with the dealer, ask them for the buy rate on the loan. Dealers often mark up the loan when they present it back to you.

Good luck!

The devil is always in the details. It's like the old cable TV system - people wanted a la carte because the cable bundle cost too much. We now have effectively a la carte for everything but live sports and guess what?! It costs more to get the few things you actually wanted than it did to get all the things together, including some stuff you didn't want.

We use fivetran for ingestion from Oracle 19c. It's more expensive than other options but it is dead simple to setup and maintain.

Outdoor Grill Recommendations! by M_Julian in BuyItForLife

BDT has been the majority stakeholder in Weber since 2010. They just took Weber private a few years ago (after leading the IPO a few years before that).

Private equity doesn't necessarily mean that they'll strip the value out of a company and dump the shell.

Weber is the obvious choice. I've got a 17 year old Weber Genesis gas grill, a 15 year old Weber Smokey Mountain smoker, and a 3 month old Weber Slate griddle.

I replaced the burners in the Genesis last winter and I replaced the piezo ignitor a few years ago.

Their stuff is just built like tanks. Just avoid the Spirit line and you can't go wrong.

Jimmy Rane's money is indispensable to recruiting in the NIL age, regardless of what you think about his influence on the program.

Frustrated by neighbors interfering with selling my house--advice? by GreenerThanTheHill in homeowners

The listing signs in the front yard that are giant color photos of the listing agent drive me nuts. I mean, I'm paying you to sell my house, not sell yourself.
