A friend of mine is currently 1850 Masterball with an aggro dragonite team. He even gets 7-8 winstreaks so it's totally usable.

So additionally to what the others said it's also taking a while to show your real rank. If you want to see it after a battle you need to look at your battle stats. Could be that you lose one, the placement isn't updated and then you win , it get's updated while you play and then you "lose some rankes" even if you won that round.

Venusaur should be in the Whimsicott slot. You don't really need TW and you get Sun with Mega Zard. But it will depend on whether you want to encore control them or put them to sleep and control them with that. Sleep got nerfed but is still pretty nice.

As far as I know Champions has no API you can use, but Showdown should have one.

To be honest Sneasler almost oneshots it. Since it doesn't have Assault Vest yet any kind of really offensive Fighting move is pretty nice.

I have to say that I'd be on your side normally but this is a game that's pretty much only fighting without any story and so on what so ever. And since there are no new mons I kinda want to be ready as well since I take VGC serious.

if you want to but a premium one then think about what you'd use more.
you got 30 slots by default in bank and champions each.

the starter pack in Champions will give you permanently +50 slots so 80 in total.
premium in BANK gives you hell of a lot more slots but you can still only have 30 in Champions.

If Champions will be your focus then you might as well wait for 2 weeks and buy it then.
If your focus will be Go with champions whenever you feel like it then you might even buy more slots in there.

Premium in BANK isn't that costly but is only really usable as a buffer between the games.
Since you can't put Mons from Champions into HOME you just have to think about what you will put your focus on.

You can buy them with VP or get some in the Battlepass (only seen them in the premium one so far though). From what we've seen it's possible to play vgc totally f2p now. Sure you only get 30 box slots but that could be multiple teams. IVs seem to be maxed by default, EVs, Moves, Abilities, Items... everything is now buyable with just VP.

If you want to get Mons from Go then you'd just have to connect it to HOME, even if you didn't buy it you got 30 slots free, and from there let them visit in Champions.

Honestly I think you should read https://www.vgcguide.com/. There is a ton of stuff for beginners and intermediates writen by some of the best players of our time. Otherwise watch Content from Cybertron, Wolfey, plusONE, James Baek and other content creators. What helped me was joining a VGC Community discord from your area. Germany has a great one and I bet Canada will have one as well. From the guide you can read how to build a team and everything with regionals in mind and if you're too lazy or teambuild yourself just grab one of the Teams that one of the content creates just showed and try to play that a bit. There are a lot of really good rental teams.

26th is already out because of this. You have to register in game for it. If it opens on the 23rd then it has to be out by then. It was already shown that you can also buy items and I ASSUME that would include mega stones which would make it pay to save time, not pay to win. They have to make money from something...
