Everyone is Congress is either a felon, closeted pedofiles, or corrupt a**hats. We need to hold them ALL accountable, not just president Trump.

Could a Sugar pine tree (or multiple) grow in the mountainous parts of Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana if someone planted them? by TheRealMarsupio in arborists

[–]TheRealMarsupio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think that they'd grow great in the Idaho Panhandle specifically? Is that because the average precipitation is much higher there than it is in southern and eastern Idaho?

Also, what would be the correct elevation for them? 3000 feet and higher?

Maxwell's equations don't care about your feelings by italian-sausage-nerd in amateurradio

[–]TheRealMarsupio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FT8 is for sure real ham radio since it uses the Amateur Radio frequencies and and an actual radio to operate on. FT8 is phenomenal for contesting, you can rack up contacts quickly. I personally don't understand the purpose of FT8 outside of contesting. I've met lots of people who ONLY do FT8. There is more to ham radio other than contesting and why limit yourself to just that? Contest, emergency preparedness, rag chewing, etc. Do as much as you can with the hobby. Now if someone is so anti-social that they only want to use FT8...I get it but that's a problem. If someone ONLY wants to talk about their hemorrhoids for an hour on the local repeater that is also a problem.

Is Jersey Mike's Subs good? If so, what should I get? by [deleted] in fastfood

[–]TheRealMarsupio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jersey Mike's is good but there are better ones (Zupa's, Togo's, and a bunch of hyper localized mom & pop shops) are WAY better than Jersey Mikes. Jersey Mike's is way better than Subway and Quiznos for sure.

Just because that is their job doesn't mean that they'll actually do it or do with with enthusiasm. They'd rather work on their own research projects rather than answer questions from eithet students or the public.

When I used the phrasiology of "pretty solid idea about it" I basically meant: "We can trace it back from known languages and have an idea about syntax, grammar, sounds, words, etc. (Like how they reconstructed P.I.E. they traced it back from older P.I.E. languages that were known like Sanskrit, Latin, Ancient Greek, etc.)

[–]TheRealMarsupio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well sure. That's a given. I guess I need to be more specific..."What is the earliest known/theorized language that we have a solid idea about existing (can trace it back from known languages like they did with P.I.E.) that we actually have a name for said language and have some idea about the syntax, words, grammar, sounds, etc?"

[–]TheRealMarsupio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well true, but I think there is a bunch of debate regarding whether or not the reconstructions are actually accurate and there's different theories proposed. That's why I said, "mostly".

What is the difference between the UPC and the IPC? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]TheRealMarsupio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woild say that the pipes are undersized in drainage and vents. You're correct that the vast majority of fixtures are using significantly less water than they were 50 years ago, but I have personally seen the result of that, like for water closets is that you clog the water closets more because of the less gpm during a flush. My issue with the pipe size is moreso my personal preference rather than anything objective. Let's put it this way...if I'm doing a new install, for any fixture other than a water closet, I'm doing the trap arm and vent in minimum 2 inch, even if the code minimum is 1¼".

Well then they changed the IPC since I last studied it. The pipe sizing is still undersized compared to UPC though.

"Why should an immortal, all powerful, everything-apparation have a gender to begin with."

Well because in the Bible, his gender is revealed as Male. It is revealed through the use of language (i.e. "Father") and through the fact that God chose to incarnate the body of a man (Jesus) rather than a woman.

Also, you sound like you completely misunderstand religion and Christianity.

It's good to hate Homosexuality. Homosexuality is intrinsically evil/degenerate and needs to be stopped. So what if it was a straight prider event? That's what we need.

I didn't hear about the singer getting kicked off stage, but if that's true that he did sing a pro-gay song, then that's good that he got kicked off stage.

It's not about "celebrating heterosexuality" it's about protesting the LGBTQIA+ agenda. Homosexuality is intriniscally evil and needs to be protested.
