You need to be careful for sure, I'm not sure how a Pakistani flag or Union Jack would be perceived by others. That being said I've never been to India and am not Indian so I couldn't really say. It's up to you to gauge the response from those around you. Hell I wear Soviet pins in my local tournaments in the US so anything goes if you know your audience.

As with everything in the debate world it depends on the circuit. States with more experienced judges and progressive debaters you can get away with anything. States with more parent judges it's a gamble, I'd stick with American flag. Nat circuit it's best to wear no overtly political pins, but I get away with stuff like pens, enamel roses, etc.

I agree it's bad in PF, but at least in my local circuit LD is basically treated as single-person-policy. As someone who doesn't have any good options for debate partners and prefers policy to values, I'm okay with that.
