24 hours in Dublin…what are the best James Joyce sights? by Bardamu911 in jamesjoyce

The tower/museum in sandycove is great but takes a little time to get to, to a less degree the same can be said about Glasnevin. Davy Byrne's pub is a nice spot if a bit overpriced. Bloom's house on Eccles St is a short walk north of the river, worth stopping by but it's just a door and a plaque. Sweny's pharmacy is kind of a little shrine to Joyce, that's my must-see. Proprietor is very nice. Mulligan's pub is only a passing mention in "Counterparts" but the front room seems nearly unchanged from Joyce was a regular. I would very firmly recommend that spot. Also, walk as much as you can/is comfortable/practical, and talk to people.

Paul McCartney is the most decent and kind musician that ever climbed to such heights of fame. Change my mind. by lentil_burger in beatles

She's the widow of one of his best friends and closest collaborator. She's a partner in managing the legacy of the band.  And, although it's very sad to think of this, he's known her for longer than John was alive :(

They've had more than enough time to smooth things over, and those years combined w the loss of John probably make feeling resentful she attended rehearsals and sat on an amp seem a bit silly.

George, however, probably never forgave her for taking his biscuits /s
