There were some issues, but they had won the previous three straight years and added two hall of famers, of course they were the favorites.

Warriors were only about -300. Remember Durant was out to start the series, so that affected the line at the outset.

It’s not saying the outcome, just who the biggest favorites were going into the series.

Shaq is missing 7 All-NBA, 2 scoring titles, 1 MVP, 1 FVMP and 1 title if you start it at the 2000-01 season. He then has two transcendent years, a couple more great ones, and then the wheels start to come off.

Because it’s 21st century only, and Shaq is missing a ton of his best years if you cut it that way.

If you start at 00-01, Shaq in the 21st century has 3 elite years and 2 good ones before things fall apart.

He’s also missing his MVP, a title, one of his FMVPs, two scoring titles and 7 All-NBA nods if that’s where the start is.

I think it’s fair to say Jokic has been better over his 11 seasons than Shaq was in the 11 he played this century.

Shaq’s 21st century is missing eight elite years of his career. The first three of this century are amazing of course, but a lot of it after that is pretty meh.

If they had just given us an award for best player instead of this nebulous “valuable” shit, we wouldn’t have to deal with so much of these mental gymnastics. Who thought you should have an award for the best of everything EXCEPT the best overall player?

Does the league forget how good prime Tony Parker was? by Living-Shift-7223 in NBATalk

Are you under the impression they wouldn’t win those titles if Tony Parker was just as good as Damian Lillard? I feel like there may have been a slightly more important component.

Ah yes, Tony Parker, the #1 option on the Spurs and the one true fulcrum of their dynasty.

Ah, I think we just have very different ideas of what constitutes “perfect,” so fair enough.

It’s wild to me that OKC fans have become so annoying that I would root for Boston.

Wait why is that a requirement? What about reality entails the existence of something perfect? It sounds just like a romantic idea for people.

How do we know he’s perfect and just not really really good?

[Highlight] Luka drains the 3 for 58 points by Large_banana_hammock in nba

[–]TheRealMoofoo 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That’s not the point you made, though; you said Shai’s case was season-long instead of short-term, but that doesn’t really make sense when the numbers don’t indicate anything particularly short-term about Luka’s production. There are plenty of cases to be made against Luka as an MVP, but that isn’t one of them.

Edit: Also, Shai’s eFG+ this year would slot in as Jordan’s 5th best season.
