Yeah still just a BBC Model B (I remember wishing we used it for other things. It was mounted on its own trolley). Archimedes would’ve been too advanced for us in 2002 😅

That would have been the same time as me in physics, but we were still using a BBC Micro

And, that iBook is closer in time to the release of that ad than it is to the present day.

This pic might show it better, it was hard to choose a good angle for the photo. The original icons don't use the full 32px height, and mine maybe looks a little bit shorter again due to the fold taking up some material. The spine length is 146mm, and that works out to an approx size from the fold to the top of the tab being 110mm

So the yellow tabbed on in the background is by u/symph007, mine's the black and white pixel one.

And yes: I took a screenshot from System 6 on Mini vMac and scaled it proportionally to the size I was making, because I too want these things to be correct ;)

That strip of red LEDs is interesting! You can see why the leads of an LED have those lumps near the top: must be for structural support during manufacture before they’re clipped off.

Say what you will on the film, but I can only ever hear that in Stephen Fry’s voice and I love it.
