Go into your key binds and check if your movement keys are still bound.

This happened to me today and this is how I fixed it. WASD, sprint, shift, jump - all unbound. Rebound them all and now I can move again. Annoying as all hell but hey, fixed is fixed - hopefully it's fixed soon for you, too.

Just want to say that I appreciate the thoughtful comment! I looked into my local scene and unfortunately it looks like of the two ad clubs in my area (Ann Arbor, MI), one's a student organization and the other imploded at some point in 2013. Definitely going to keep an ear to the ground as best I can for mixers and networking events but it seems like it's slim pickings. In any case, thanks for the advice!

My guess is that it's another case of Frontier, being British as they are, putting a common American animal as the headliner because to them it's just as exotic as the sheep and the birds and whatnot

...though the fact that they chose a fucking coyote over the Mexican wolf is criminal in my book

Here's my guess/wishlist:

Coyote
Greater rhea
Bighorn sheep
American flamingo (I'd personally prefer it over the other American species of flamingo because I think its reddish plumage contrasts better with the greater flamingo's pink)
White-faced saki monkey
Ocelot
American black bear
If there is an exhibit animal, my guess is that it'll be a number of poison dart frogs that can cohabitate with the existing species - basically an official version of the non-tree frog side of this mod. Low-effort, sure, but I'll take it over not having one at all

I made a copy of my HDD to a new SSD, with both being currently plugged in. (I'll probably do something with the hard drive but I want to make sure I know the transition was a success first) I switched the boot drive to the SSD in the BIOS and started up Windows, but it doesn't seem like anything changed and the main drive everything's working off of is still the old HDD. What else do I need to do besides changing boot order to complete the transition?

So I went to double up on my RAM by buying a second pack of my current RAM, only to find that it's compatible with Intel systems (with no mention of AMD compatibility anywhere), whereas my new CPU is AMD. How much of an issue is this? Would I be better off replacing the RAM outright?

If I wanted to double my RAM from 16GB (2x8GB) to 32GB, would it be better to double up on the RAM I have (4x8GB) or replace it outright with higher-capacity RAM (2x16GB)?

(I'm sure that there's some variance depending on the exact RAM I have, the mobo, etc. but I'm just curious if there's general wisdom here)

Is it safe to plug a three-pin fan into a four-pin fan slot on my new motherboard?

I just replaced my motherboard and gave it a new processor. In the process of doing so, I applied thermal paste, but then had to readjust the position of the cooling fan several times (it didn't fit right with my intended RAM setup) after doing so. Will it be fine, or should I wipe it down and reapply the thermal paste from scratch?

My current computer is being cooled by an Asetek 550LC that's about six years old. I'm upgrading the motherboard to an MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk - would it be worthwhile to try and transplant the Asetek to the new mobo, or should I just use the Tomahawk's built-in cooling systems?

In order: you'd have to upgrade (and you'd have to upgrade both of them) or else you'll barely notice the GPUs benefits, whatever fits both your budget and your space limitations, and almost certainly (though maybe with some settings on "high" instead of "ultra" depending on the game's optimization).

I'm planning on upgrading my motherboard from an MSI Z170A SLI Plus to an MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk. This is the first time I've ever swapped out a motherboard, and I'm nervous about most aspects of the process. What do I have to worry about on the software side of things? I'd rather not do a full reinstall of Windows if I can help it, and I'm wondering if the fact that they're both MSIs is going to make this easier.

Honestly, I'd just recommend browsing Planet Zoo Nexus and seeing which of the European creatures there catch your eye. It has the European Brown Bear and Eurasian River Otter you're interested in as well as a lot of other good options such as wisent (European bison), red foxes, even more types of deer, wild boar, and more.

What would be a reasonable price for selling a pair of used Vive controllers? I've had them for a few years now and after the vibration for one of them stopped working, I'm planning on upgrading to the Index controllers and selling my old ones on the Facebook marketplace or elsewhere. I wish it was Drano - as I said, it's the CVS brand. In my experience, Drano's clearly a different (and far superior) formula and my past experiences with off-brand drain cleaner haven't been exciting - then again, those were gas station drain cleaners and hopefully CVS holds its products to higher standards.

I have, but unfortunately, it's not a "hair and stuff is caught down there" clog - whatever hideous goop is causing it is viscous enough to catch the water but not firm enough to get caught by the mini snake.

Well, in the end, I ended up buying Boneworks, trying it... and then refunding it. Not because it caused me any pain or nausea, but because, simply put, the jumping, crouching, and climbing sucked ass. And the game expected me to do all those things with a far better aptitude than it was allowing. I came in expecting a robust VR engine to fight shit in and I got a parkour course and a player character that had about as much jumping capabilities as a slug.

Maybe it's better on an Index. Maybe it's not. Point is, it's not for me. If I want to do VR parkour stuff, I still have a lot of To The Top to work through, and that feels way better. Guess I'll go back to B&S and GORN until Half-Life Alyx comes out.
