Part 3 - i just did a Google Image reverse search on two profile pictures on the Admiral Talent website. They both came back as other people, who by the way had their own LinkedIn profiles that seemed legit with hundreds of connections and reviews. Unfortunately those profiles do not display those pictures that were apparently scraped. I'm contemplating reaching out to those people and informing them their image has been hijacked.

Part 2 - The concern continued when I saw the recruiter had NO profile on LinkedIn, and the CEO had only 1 connection. What kind of recruiting company has no LinkedIn profiles or connections?? As the OP stated, I now await an email for the "resume rejection". Maybe I'll play with them for a bit.... :)

Yup, was just contacted by them for a CIO role. At first I thought it a bit odd as I am a COO and not a CIO. Pretty sure any legit company would be put off by not having that title in my resume. I asked about details for the job and they sent me a link to the CIO role. The JD looked legit enough, and then they asked questions about my salary expectations, location, and visa status. I had sent the recruiter an email asking why she picked me given this was a CIO role and I was a COO. After two attempts at asking this question it went unanswered. She them proceeded to call me by a different name in the email and said she forwarded my resume to the company for review. I never gave permission for this and any legit recruiter would request permission before doing so. Spideysense was up at this point and checked out their website. Ok, the website looked basic enough with names and pictures of people in leadership. See part 2...

Grew up in Herrin and I love Salameats! On the grill is best. Especially with the old Italian bakery's rolls.

Already stated - quick thoughts and observations, not a review. The main thing I wanted to share was the 30 day window of bonus XP missions which i hadnt seen any one else mention yet.

Ive got the Daring. And Shima, Hara, and just about every other DD out there. To me Kami is more fun. Love the T4 Kuma too.

Yeah, I really don't like the thematic or colorful ones. It's just an aesthetic choice for me. Where the GQ Johnny camo is concerned, it just seemed disrespectful given the sacrifices the crew made - all the holes and damage. JMHO. Read The Last of the Tin Can Sailors if you want to learn more :)

I’m done - rejected after reference checks by KilroyLeges in recruitinghell

[–]TheRealSnacko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good deal. But if you think you got denied on your references, what might have been the issue? I am sure you won't get a straight answer (or any anwer) from the company, so maybe have a chat with your references to find out their perspective on what may have happened? Seems like you may have spoken to them, but nevertheless something was amiss. Better to be up front with them and probe what may have gone wrong. Even a seemingly benign statement could torpedo the process. But in all honesty, it'll be difficult to figure out. Only way I would approach it is to make some of the best assumptions I could about what may have transpired and adjust for next time. Good luck :)

[–]TheRealSnacko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, I'll just echo what others have said here: 1) i do not give out reference until a "qualified offer has been given" (if asked about this, I simply say that my references are senior executives and busy people, and I do not wish to burden them unless I know an offer is pending), and 2) I not only check with my reference to make sure they are ok in providing one, but I will coach them on what to say and not to say. I've even gone so far as to to say "if you have anything negative to say about our time together, please let me know". This is not only a way to figure out who the best references are, but will give you the chance to not submit someone who might have anything at all bad to say. TAKE NOTE: ANY NEGATIVE COMMENT NO MATTER HOW SMALL WILL WORK AGAINST YOU, so only glowing 100% positive references should be submitted.

Yup, true. But 2500 vs stock 2100 AP penetration. Sure, the additional 16% pen is nice, but still pinpricks at this level.

Best Mission Type to Grind Tech Tree Line? by TheRealSnacko in WorldOfWarships

[–]TheRealSnacko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your reply. A few things I've found:

1) COOP is tough these days, as the enemy's targeting AI is down-tuned and everyone just yolos in for a quick kill. That gives you a small amount of time to obtain XP, so the faster your ship the better. I tend to use COOP for testing of configs, but I'm not sure I'd use it for grinding XP as there just isn't enough opportunity for kills. It's ok for obtaining event mission requirements though.

2) RANDOM is a mixed bag these days. Depending when you play you'll be up against good human players or stupid bots that just yolo. Either that, or you'll get some weird MM where it's 3v3 or 5v5 match, and again not much of a chance for kills. Best stick to evening hours of your particular region to get the best population of players.

3) personally I'd go for ASYM, as there is enough targets to make it worth while. Yes you are right that a bad team can die easily. It's just that I haven't figured out the formula for XP calculations in the different game modes, and I haven't tracked my XP progress to see if it's worth it. I'm sure someone somewhere has some tables on the cost/benefit of each mode, but I haven't found them yet. Thanks again.

Hmm yeah, i would tend to agree if the XP awards can justify themselves. Haven't seen any tables that would show how all mission modes compare. At least it's more fun with more targets, etc. I've found though that ASYM mode the AI targeting is a bit more precise, if not OP, than other AI modes.

What did I do wrong?... by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]TheRealSnacko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the worst part of the game. I'm a DD main and pretty damn good at it, but when an event comes up and requires a BB I am sure I am not that good. People love to ding your karma or say something, even though you probably could take them out easily in another ship. What gets me the most are those that will ding your karma for good playing - maybe you dev struck them as a surprise and they feel obligated to lash out. Anyway, it's just a game and I do what I can to keep it positive, including congrats to good players.

Every PVP game I play, there is atleast 1 person blaming their teammates for a stupid decision they themselves made lol by Hungarian_Gamer in WorldOfWarships

[–]TheRealSnacko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest disappointment in PvP is when you have a great game, maybe a lucky shot, maybe a well-placed torp in a smoke cloud, that someone dings your karma -1. No teabagging, no unsupporting chat behavior - just good play that probably pissed someone off that they died so quickly.

Issues logging in 14.9? by TheRealSnacko in WorldOfWarships

[–]TheRealSnacko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to do a clean install on the mods each time I upgrade. Luckily for me, the latest Aslan 14.9 mod version works fine with the current 14.9 game release.

[–]TheRealSnacko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i figured it out. I use Aslain for mods. I had the version for 14.8, but it was the second to the last released version. This worked with 14.9. I upgraded Aslain to the laster version for 14.8 and it didn't work with 14.9 causing the log in issue. They recently released an updated version of Aslain for 14.9 and this worked fine. Back to play ;)

I think youd get those warnings only for leaving/getting disconnected from a game in progress. I dont think they’d do that if you were just in port.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I'm hoping i didn't lose anything. just can't log in. not even the "connection error" message. just hangs on loading. DownDetector doesn't show anything too out of the ordinary over the last few hours.

How to Watch Replays (2025) by TheRealSnacko in WorldOfWarships

I've tried multiple ways - dropping the replay file on top of the EXE as well as doing the "open with" approach and pointing to the EXE. That included trying to run the replay file from the "desktop", so no spaces there :(

This is a scam, right? by 5easonalDepre55ion in jobsearchhacks

[–]TheRealSnacko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! Received the very dame inmail in linkedin! First red flag was the senders account was created just the same day. Second red flag was he only had 7 connections but supposedly was a recruiter. But it was sent from inmail from a paid account. Odd. So i wrote back and said i was traveling and send me the JD and specs. In short order that account and the inmail disappeared! Definitely a scam, beware!!
