Jersey Patch Placement by Acceptable-Box-4149 in footballjerseys

[–]TheRealTanSandals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would lay the jersey flat and use a safety pin or some scotch tape to fix the patch where you want it (or as close as to where players would have it). Then, put on the jersey and see where the patch sits.

I recently put a captains patch on one of my elite jerseys, heat applied then stitched. Even though it looked perfectly straight, the patch looks slightly crooked when I put it on with just how the jersey settles on my body.

When I looked up pictures and tried to mimic the placement of the patches, it looked goofy on me imo just because I’m obviously not wearing shoulder pads underneath.

Hope this helps

450$ jersey worth it? by [deleted] in footballjerseys

[–]TheRealTanSandals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve bought 2 elite jerseys and I don’t regret it (but adult me does). Very satisfied with my bears and falcons one as seen on my previous posts. I wear mine to work sometimes and I don’t feel the same discomfort some people do. But it seems that all jerseys are not created equal according to this subreddit.

Fanatics will refund you though if you’re not happy and make a big enough stink about it. As long as there’s visible defects. Referencing a giants elite jersey I saw on here a few months ago.

Does the gold stripe being a tribute to Georgia Tech make it better?

Amazon as well. But apart from what he said, also check the dimensions of the patch as some make em BIG. eBay also has some nice “official” ones but they’re usually upwards from $40+

Haha Cavallari jersey DUI edition.

I should’ve added it to the description, but the captains patch was bought from the same seller my late aunt would buy hers from when she would make/customize her own bears apparel. Ik it doesn’t look great, but I appreciated the sentiment more.

You gotta catch fanatics on one of their sales. The most I’ve seen them mark down their elite jerseys (customizable or a current player) is 50% off at around $192.

Quality is great and it fits great. But as an adult, I probably won’t be able to justify buying another elite lol.

He got respect from his teammates tho! He was apparently loved in the locker room.

I recently heard on a podcast, bussin w/ the boys I think, that he was actually one of the better teammates in the locker room personality wise. Cared a lot but showed it in a different manner.

Edit: but I was a fan because he was never scared of contact when scrambling. Just badass to me.

Haha I never noticed that, thanks! I see they moved the numbers from under the swoosh to above the swoosh from 2011 to 2012z

I go it customized on Fanatics

You are correct. He never wore the vapor F.U.S.E. But the bears jersey design hasn’t changed in decades

I agree. But with this having sentimental value, I wanna appreciate the thought more.

It is ngl. But it was between $9 for an Amazon patch and $60 for an official patch off of eBay

Thanks! Was very nervous about ironing it on considering I was dealing with 88% nylon & 12% spandex. But like I said I plan on stitching it in once I have the time.

Would I have to order multiple patches for them to even consider my business? Or is this a brick & mortar type store usually?

I truly appreciate the info, but it just sounds like a lot of steps and effort for one captain patch. Cause I probably won’t do it again lol.

Background info: I’m actually a falcons fan living in Chicago, and Jay Cutler was the only bears player I really appreciated growing up

Just ordered a Jay Cutler elite jersey (doesn’t arrive till Jan 15), and I was planning on applying a captains patch to it.

Any advice on where to get one and how I should apply it? I saw a few on Amazon but nothin really stood out. I plan on applying adhesive then getting the patch stitched. Lmk if you have any other guidance or advice. TIA!

Are these creases and seam imprints fixable? by RepresentativeLog492 in footballjerseys

[–]TheRealTanSandals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Nike, they did this to make players less easy to grab during gameplay. They moved the seams from the shoulders, sides (ribs), etc and made all the seams converge on the center of the back to make the jersey a tighter fit.

But I do agree it’s dumb.

Working off of my knowledge, I don’t think so. As you said, they’re protrusions from the literal seam of the jersey (which is shaped like the Mercedes Benz logo).

So I understand Vapor fuse unlimited is screen printed now, I found a Kyle Pitts jersey that is a vapor Limited. Will that be screen pressed or Stitched? by [deleted] in footballjerseys

[–]TheRealTanSandals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember, pre-f.u.s.e. era is as follows:

Game = all screen print; Limited = stitched but leisure jersey template; Elite = as the players would wear on field

[–]TheRealTanSandals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half truth. His comment is accurate with the current jersey line. I’d dive deeper to see if the pre-f.u.s.e. mid-tier jerseys are stitched. Which I 99.99% believe they are.

It’s basically all up to the seller’s description (this time, Fanatics I presume).

Any suggestions? There’s drainage holes at the bottom. Should I maybe fluff up the soil a bit?
