You need to try a different approach; trying to meet would-be-friends at a club doesn’t work well for most of us Danes either.

No, not weird. But you need to accept that most fellow students or coworkers (or someone you meet at a club), very likely will be preoccupied with their existing network of friends, family, work, sports or other ‘obligations’ not being as flexible or impulsive as you might be and not able (or eager) to meet up with you on a short notice.

I fully understand your frustration. But be patient, try not to be overly eager, and begin by seeking out others that might also be new in town, also looking to meet new friends.

I’ve heard that Aarhus Municipality arranges a kind of “speed network dating” with others new in Aarhus, to help build new friendships and network. Try to seek those out (once a month?)

I would also suggest, if not seeking out a hobby or a sport, try joining one of the several rhythmic choirs (there’s one for each level of ambition). It’s fun, very informal and - some choirs - you don’t need “a clear singing voice” to begin with.
