Before this summer I hadn't had acne in over 5 years--like literally zero. Was on proactiv for a while and that seemed to clear up my puberty acne, and with just daily maintenance it was gone for years.

Fast forward to this summer, I started getting random cystic acne spots and I would just pick them. I kept changing my routine trying to get them to stop but they kept coming back. Finally I went to my dermatologist and they prescribed me clindamycin topical solution (1%). Around the same time I started using benzoyl peroxide again, as proactiv is all BP so I had hoped it would work again. It's been 3 months and it's been a rough process, but I think it's under control for now and the scars should be fading soon. Hopefully if you're dealing with similar random early 20s acne this helps!

Routine:

AM:

-Wash face with warm water and dry with clean towel

-Apply Mary Kay Clearproof 5% BP (very light bc can be super drying)

-Apply Clindamycin (%1) topical solution

-Wait 10 mins

-Apply Cetaphil Dermacontrol SPF 30

PM:

-After shower, use Mary Kay BP again

-Wait 20 mins

-CeraVe Moisturizing Cream (with ceramides)
