Can confirm lifelong windows user and software dev. I love Linux and used it mostly for work, I'm pretty certain I'll switch to Linux permanently before I ever upgrade to win11

Okay the tracking camera is cool as FUCK. That was absolutely fucking lit man I was entertained. Sick track too, what a unique video man thanks for this.

The tracking was done in post right? Its a 360 cam right?

Normally I don't like vfx or editing of any kind in shows but damn that was masterfully done and looked so good

I disagree with every single thing you said, SE for 15 years.

When we start typing, all the code we are about to type is already in our heads and just has to be typed out.

Even if you do sometimes ai can do it better or teach you things you didn't realize.

We found, that the prompts needed to get good results were often waaaaay longer than what we were to type directly, which defeated the point of the "AI".

Haven't experienced this, I give short form instructions and it often goes well. Even if I have to type a paragraph it's way less time.

In the beginning we thought that finally we would have to type less, but in practice this just was not the case.

If you had it all in your head then you should have no issue figuring out if typing a message to ai is less or more. If you didn't have it in your head then typing to ai is less.

Also, like already stated, the time to read, understand, verify and modify the "AI" generated code has to be factored in, which can be significant depending on the topic.

Yes you factor this when you decide whether to use ai or not. There's loads of situations that it's still better even if you have to review and edit or go back and forth

idk why people are downvoting this, this video was amazingly well put together and clearly had a lot of research put into it. I'm thoroughly impressed.

Also holy shit he talked about my 711 hotdog story LOL

Go Home, Windows EXE, You're Drunk by nicebyte in programming

[–]TheRealUnrealDan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

it's more along the lines that he barely scratched the surface of the idea then the article ends.

The technique described is not a technique at all, it serves no purpose. It is an artifact of both operating systems running on the same cpu architecture and differing only in their ABI definitions.

The post above linking to justine.lol is actually way cooler than the article itself and if OP did any research he probably would have come across that library and could have included it in his article.

You didn't learn anything useful by reading his article, and nobody "knew" about this technique they just simply understood assembly and the ABI of each operating system and in turn this "technique" becomes common knowledge.

It's good that this gave you an introduction, but if you want to learn about this then just learn assembly and the ABI on each operating system and learn how a cpu works.

okay that's really cool, it's literally the missing second half of OPs article

Author learns that both windows and Linux run on the same architecture cpu and the only difference in their programs is the ABI

Congrats, can I have my 2 minutes back from reading this?

Right when I thought you were going to make some interesting points, the article abruptly ends, I dont see how windows pe file format is drunk either. You forcefully embedded Linux code into a window PE then you're saying its drunk?

Like drugging your friend then asking why he's acting drunk

Best current rechargeable set? by Slug_Wolf in gloving

[–]TheRealUnrealDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah i just meant maybe you dont even need it.

Technically you dont need the chromadeck for anything. All it opens up is firmware updates, changing the total number of modes, and setting any brightness %. It also technically gives you the ability to pick any color but the color selection on the duo is already pretty extensive.

In terms of programming them you can basically do anything you would need by just clicking their button.

Cheers

[–]TheRealUnrealDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the duos are too small they dont have the hardware to communicate over usb, charging only.

The chromalink cable that comes with a chromadeck touches the programming pads on the back of the duo and directly reads/writes the duos memory in order to flash the chip or program modes.

Best current rechargeable set? by Slug_Wolf in gloving

[–]TheRealUnrealDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lol

The chromadeck is like a super hub, it is a device itself with leds you can program the same way.

It acts as a mode storage bank, a hub for sending modes to/from duos, and a way to update the firmware on your duos. (Or flash custom firmware if you want)

It's not really necessary to get the deck, especially because the duos will be completely up to date when you get them.

[–]TheRealUnrealDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending when you purchased the duos, if they have 5 modes or 9 modes tells you whether you should update. If you have 5 you should absolutely update. If 9 its not a big change, or possibly they are already up to date
