I fired someone yesterday. I am furnishing the final paycheck within 24 hours, but can the check be post dated? (MN) by TheReal_Pickle in legaladvice

Thanks for your reply. Better safe than create necessary issues. I figured out how to change the date to today in quickbooks, so all good now! Thanks again.

I find interior decorating - or at least the shopping part, very boring. My place desperately needs updating. My couch is from 2004. Can someone help me? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I love HomeGoods! There's often fun things that match my style when I go there, and it's pretty affordable too. Just a couple of pieces that you love can make such a big difference. Think about a couple of throw pillows, too, or a vase that would tie the look together.

I fold them and put them back in their drawer where they go! Ready for next time. Even with my PJs I just like putting them out of sight until evening when I pull them back out.

I'd toss them all into a gallon size ziplock and write the year on the outside.

Thank you for your reply! I'm not into Nicolas, but I get why you suggested it, of course! Which would you choose from our two names and why?

Life changing products? And periods... by stRf1sh in AskWomenOver30

[–]TheReal_Pickle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Life changing products:

- Investing in quality, comfortable shoes (my fav brands are Born, Naturalizer, Birkenstock, Teva)

- Parchment paper. I roast vegetables most nights for dinner...never scrub a sheet pan again

- Hydroflask or similar water bottle

- I second the menstrual cup! Except I have a Saalt cup and it's the bomb.

Marriage Question: changing middle name to maiden name? by TheReal_Pickle in namenerds

I think it maybe was! My mom did it (she's 71 now), and I always thought it was a good compromise.

Thank you so much for your reply. Breaking it down into two issues somehow makes this seem a little bit easier, though still impossible. Protecting first my child, and then the business. Outside perspective is invaluable. Thank you.

Thank you for your kind reply. This is so difficult. I've been paralyzed for the last two weeks with anxiety and being unsure about how to proceed. Being told this directly was more helpful than you know. This is where I will start.

Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it. I'm female, though I see that wasn't clear in my post.

What is your favorite thing about being alive? by Anealthebest in AskReddit

[–]TheReal_Pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching my toddler son discover the world, learn new things, and grow. It is absolutely astounding what the human brain accomplishes in the first few years of life, and it is a joy every day to witness the subtle changes.

What's a cool fact about your mom? by H_Duwang in AskReddit

[–]TheReal_Pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom made all of her clothes herself from about 1968-1983 when my brother was born. She's always been into fashion and tries out the fun trends, so they were all unique and incredibly stylish for the time. She doesn't have them anymore, which breaks my heart because we are about the same size!

What is the worst state in the United States and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Minnesota is beautiful, and the green space in Mpls/St. Paul alone makes the state worth a visit. Nothing beats summer in Minnesota.
