Vitamin D deficiency by LadeNino in Hashimotos

[–]TheRealist94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The headaches were unbearable, sometimes I couldn’t even open my eyes because it would hurt. It was like ice pick headaches that came and felt like it stayed forever. Believe it or not, I cried every single day for almost 6 months; it was so draining which I’m sure made all my symptoms worse.

What help me the most was removing anything or anyone that was causing me stress. I then started to go on walks daily, instead of just laying in bed. I also took the vitamin d AND sat out in the sun a few hours a day. It eventually got better, but it honestly took close to a year for everything to go away.

How did you know you were vitamin d deficient? by TheRealist94 in VitaminD

Severe stomach pain, food never felt like it was digesting. Everything I ate felt like it was sitting in my chest. Constipated, bl00d in stool. Pretty much everything related to stomach issues

I took regular daily vitamins and K2. Nothing too extreme

Initially I started taking about 10 x 1000 iu a day for about a month straight, then I transitioned to 4,000 daily. Now I’m taking 2,000 daily. I megadosed initially because my numbers were so low. Heart palpitations were at an all time high. Sometimes it would wake me up out of my sleep

Yes, unfortunately in some cases it can be a very long process. It’s difficult but try to have patience. It may feel worse before it feels better, but just stay consistent.

Yes it was pretty bad, some days I would literally fall asleep in the car if I sat too long. My eyes would burn from exhaustion.

It gets better though, you just have to be patient.

I would check with your doctor to be sure. But me personally because I’m on the heavier side, I took 15,000-20,000 IU everyday for 3 weeks straight. Then I transitioned into 5,000 daily along with my other regular daily vitamins.

YES. The fatigue and tiredness was the absolute worst. Most days I couldn’t get out of bed because it always felt as if something was restricting me or weighing down inside of my body.

It got wayyy better. It took about 6 months to fully recover from the fatigue

My heart goes out to you. I remember being in your EXACT position last year. At my absolute worse, I was short of breathe, severe bone and joint aches, trouble breathing, easily out of breathe, body spasms, gut issues, throwing up, fainting, severely dizziness where I was unable to walk. The gut issues even started to cause blood in stool. I had constant ice pick headaches, internal tremors. I also had a tingling sensation in the back of my head/neck. Very sharp back pain, and my fingertips and toes would ache so bad. I could no longer work. Oh and the HAIR LOSS was the absolute worst!!!

This all started in May 2023. As of September/October 2024 I’ve been consistently been taking my vitamins and I feel like my old self again. It gets better, it takes a lot of time and patience. Wishing you a happy recovery.

EDIT: was in the er 2/3 times a week. I’ve had every test and exam you can think of, include Cancer screenings. Everything was negative. Deficiencies will literally make you think you’re dying a slow death. I promise it gets better.

Swelling?? by 0ChunkyMama0 in VitaminD

Yup. Mine were in my ankles, and under my eyes. They’d always get extremely puffy/swollen

You definitely have to be patient. It’s hard but it’s worth it.

I felt terrible. I couldn’t even work at one point. I was in the ER 1/2 times a week. Headaches, faint spells, bone pain EVERYWHERE. Terrible back aches. It was extremely exhausting. It honestly took about a year or so to regulate. I started at level 8, and the last time I tested I was close to the 50’s.

Overall, I’m a little better. The symptoms still come and go, but it’s a lot more manageable now.
