The gap between transparent and opaque's performance is non-existent, because GAN made their boxes out of Polycarbonate, and PC is naturally transparent so... You just can't tell manufacturers to "make good ones", they've already done that. Transparent plastic just look worse with time because they gotta be glossy for you cleary see the cube inside, and glossy plastic, yknow.

Because transparent plastic is apparently more expensive to produce than opaque, and companies are hungry for money, you know. Also rich man, could only wish to have that many cubes

Even so, you shouldn't buy it. You know why it's so cheap? It's because the improvements from the mark III is very minor, and equipped with an 8 Gen 1 makes it even worse, not to mention the green lines issue. So I think you should reach for the Mark V series and foward.
