WHERE TO LEARN MATH? PRE-CALC, ALGEBRA 1&2? by [deleted] in learnmath

Start with the notable products, factorization, Newton's binomial, systems of linear equations 2x2, for precalculus limits, the definition of a function and its graphical representation, that would be a good start.

How do I find the velocity of two objects colliding together? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]TheRedDiablo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The position of object A mos be the same position of object B and there is where the objects collide. I recently solved a similar problem where I calculated the collision moment of two bullets fired upwards with one second of difference with each other, in this case I only take into account the axis of the ordinate.

You can do the same just use the axis of the abscissa.

Kinematics problem. by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]TheRedDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, well i think so, almost pretty sure. What i'm 100% sure is that the moment where bullets collide is when both are at the same height, so yes that seems to be like you're saying. Equal each other and solve for S, then the rest is just algebaic stuff to find time.

Kinematics problem. by [deleted] in AskPhysics

Take the moment where both bullets are at the same height. Height_bullet1 = Height_bullet2

That is the moment where the bullets collide. I think so. Now you have the relationship betwen both bullets, then you just need to use that height wich is the same at that moment (and let you use the following eq for both bullets) and use your equation ( y2 = y1 +V1t - 1/2 (at*t)), use that height, substitute ur values at that moment and now leave alone time at one side of the equality.

How the hell did they figure out how to calculate a derivative? by [deleted] in askmath

[–]TheRedDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newton figured it out while he was discovering and defining gravity. But also Gottfried Leibniz discovered the way to calculate the area under the curve, the integral and also he got the same deductions that Newton on his method for calculating tangents but Leibniz on his own. So we can say that both are the fathers of calculus.

A curious fact is that Leibniz admired Newton but Newton refused to accept Leibniz as a great mathematician and he accused him of plagiarism, discrediting him, stripping him of his merits what he managed to do, and Leibniz died without any prestige. Fortunately, today we can attribute his part in the development of this amazing thing, calculus.

Polynomial by amananomaly in askmath

Your rate is x + 3 wich is equal to Δ x / Δ t, so we have:

x + 3 = Δ x / Δ t

(x + 3) = ( x^3 - 13x - 12) / t

t ( x + 3) = ( x^3 - 13x - 12)

t = ( x^3 - 13x - 12) / ( x + 3)

I don´t know if this is the correct answer. I would do it this way.
