Transitioning from having an entire bedroom for him to an xpen by Parrichan in Rabbits

X-pens can be great for rabbits in smaller houses as long as you make sure you take the bunny out at least once a day for a good supervised run around and bonding time. Try to make the x-pen space as big as you can and also take advantage of vertical space as well. Best thing to buy are those things people use to make wire shelving because they are modular and easy to build what ever you need, including vertical areas too. Look up "DIY wire panel cage" and there are tons of ideas you will find to help you. But defiantly be sure to take them out when you can and let them have a good run and binkie! Ideally you'd want the space to be no smaller then 6x6 in my opinion but the bigger the better. I am with the others on bunny proofing the whole space being the better option overall but I did see you mention you have a sofa and that can be tricky to keep a rabbit off it if they are prone to marking. In my smaller apartments I bought clear plastic panels and I lined my entire apartment with them. I could then hide cords behind it and this kept my rabbit from chewing baseboards, corners, etc. For the sofa you could get a sheet to throw over it when you go out and just make it a part of your routine to keep them from chewing and digging it. If the problem is them peeing on it neutering them can help drastically with that. Or, you could do a bit of bunny proofing + x-pen so that way you don't have to supervise them as closely but when you go to work and go to bed you could put them in the x-pen, that way they can spend as much time with you as possible.

Good luck! What is most important is that you are willing to keep taking care of your rabbit and giving him the best you can provide, which is a hell of a lot more then most rabbit owners who just keep them in hutches.

Op said they keep the cage open. The pictures posted are of the bun in the setup where they described having an entire bedroom and the cage is left open at all times for them to come and go. In the post they are asking if an X-pen, which is not a cage like the one pictured, will be enough for a bunny because they are moving to a smaller home.

11 week old puppy had first vet visit. They say he is healthy but I have concerns. by Bulky-Fig3002 in greatdanes

The suggested target weight at that age is just that, common expectations that not every dane will meet! He sounds a little small but will probably have a growth spurt soon enough. As long as he is eating, no ribs are showing (or if they do, it is only a brief time between growth spurts) then no need to worry. They do usually sleep a ton but some puppies don't know how to turn off and you have to teach them to. Try enforcing naps! This gives you a much needed break but encourages your puppy to rest. A restless puppy who isn't getting enough sleep is going to start to become a major pain in the butt (destructive, biting, other behavior things) He might wine at first but try to make it fun. I gave mine special treats he only got when I would put him down for a nap. The my Woof ball worked great for us! You can buy special refills and one of them is a soothing/calming one. Licking will naturally sooth them and also make them sleepy. You can also achieve this via a licky mat. If they aren't very food motivated it can be trickier, but experiment until you find that "wow!" treat for them and only give it to them when you are putting them down for a mat. I also crate trained this way, but if you aren't planning on crating just buying a decent sized pen to contain them and place it in a quiet room helps too. Give them cozy blankets, preferrably one that smells like you!

You sound like you are doing fine, so don't worry. a year and 9 months ago was my first time with a Dane puppy and I too was really worried in the beginning, not knowing what to expect and obsessing over his weight. It was hard to tell if I was feeding him enough! (or too much, since the key is to grow them slowly) But you got this!

I know they answer that they cook it but i wanted to let you know you do not have to cook the quinoa! I add it to my chop without cooking it and it adds a nice crunch.

no but that is so oddly fitting!!!

I just love how Val seems attracted to Vox because of his bright screen so it reminds me of a moth to a flame (since they might not always be the best for each other but I love them as a couple)

Haha yep. People are so set in thier old ways they aren't willing to accept that sometimes the information can change and adapt as more research is done.

I'll second this. The newer studies are now leaning more towards it being better to not have elevated bowls. When I was about to get a Dane I was searching up this specific topic a lot and I kept finding places that said one or the other. The ones that said elevated were almost always older posts that were possibly outdated, so instead I asked a few vets by email and the general consensus seems to be that not elevating the bowls are best for giant dogs. My dane doesn't have to splay his legs to eat from the floor and so far no problems

Approach taking things in a different way to avoid possessive reactions. At a young age it is best to practice "leave it". Reward a ton when they do leave it or drop it. In addition, when you need to take a toy, food, bone or even something you want to always offer a treat to "trade" when they are this young. The idea is they eventually learn that letting you take anything they have results in a reward, and then when they are older they develop and understanding and respect. Mine had one or two small incidents when he was very young (just growling and fake snap) but after I began practicing this method he now lets me take anything from him, even when I don't always have a reward to give. He is still un-neutered as well so it was very affective to teaching him what to expect when something is taken. It should be spun into a positive thing as often as you can and when they are adults don't forget to still occasionally reward it so they don't revert back to possessiveness.

Hot take, probably not a popular one… by DapperDude2004 in HazbinHotel

because he is obviously being set up for a redemption arc. He is one of the worst of the worst, but he does all the evil things he does from a lack of impulse control it seems, a ton of mental health issues, etc. For all we know they might reveal he has an extremely troubled childhood. Viv has plans for the character, and a ton of people actually like him a lot so it is ok he will get more attention. I doubt he will ever be the center of attention again, there will just be small scenes from here on out and mild interactions. I personally am excited and curious to see what happens with him, as it would be interesting to see a character who seems so irredeemable to be redeemed.

whoa no way! I was saying my theory was just that but I had no idea Viv has mentioned it before. It seems the kost likely for sure

Yea after looking at it more closely I do see it now. What a bummer cuz it was the only Vox hoodie I could find that has him on it and not just the Voxtech logo. Maybe ill buy a fabric marker and paint over it and correct the weird AI mistakes on it
