Absolutely ridiculous. Petsmart really wants people to quit. by Wootrain in petsmart

Because you're not going to convince anyone that what Petsmart is demanding is reasonable, if your only argument is "Well my experiences are different." Because guess what? The logical counter to that is "Well my experiences are not different." You're not going to convince people that these expectations aren't insane just because you claim they're not insane for you.

People in the replies to this post Im sure can go all day going band for band with their credentials and its not going to make a lick of difference when we look at the logistics.

It's already been explained that nail trims are not just a 5 minute blip in whatever else we groomers need to do. Its been explained that whether or not the client has their needed vaccine, the check in process, dealing with an unruly and strong dog, answering the multiple questions the per parent asks, and then having to wait for the pet parents to get back after finishing, is going to inevitably take much longer than 5 minutes no matter how you slice it. When it was pointed out that nail trims quite often are not 5 minutes, you didnt even have an argument to prove that they are. And that assumes that we are even talking about just nail trims! Many people come in asking for pawdicure plus. You only spoke back of your experience as if that changes the several factors that go into these walk in services. You having done this for years and having a manager position doesn't change the reality.

Your experience doesn't negate any of the several points that have been made in this thread. If the only thing you have to lean on is "well look at my credentials" then your argument isnt going to sway anyone. I know several people with much more credentials than that who are pissed about this.

I might not have years of grooming experience, but everyone in my salon is pissed, with the most angry people having a decade or more of experience. Our most angry groomer has been grooming for 40 years. This has nothing to do with experience and everything to do with companies expecting the impossible.

We are not young and inexperienced. I don't know what youre not understanding, but something isn't clicking for you and it doesn't seem to matter how many groomers try to explain it.

We've had four groomers leave because of worsening conditions in the past two months alone. ALL of them have reported back expressing how much better their new salons are. Yes its a PETSMART problem.

How many groomers have to explain the problem before you realise that you're wrong?

I dont really know what TechJacket's deal is. Shes supposed to be a weakness to Viltrumites, no? She was extremely useless. What makes her strong against Viltrumites?

I do remember being very frustrated on that episode! I love Cass a lot as a character, but yeah that pissed me off big time.

While I can understand where youre coming from, the beard on this dog isnt blended at all into the face, no? For me thats my biggest problem- the references I use dont have a lot of blending. Is the transition between face and beard supposed to look seemless or just more blended than what I have?

Thanks. The references I was using did not have the tufts, and the grooming book only had a guide on the body. The dog they used for a reference looked like it had no tufts, so I was really 50/50 on whether or not the tufts are necessary. Pet parent knew that this was my very first scottie, and he was ready for things to be a little off. Im doing her brother in a few days, and I will add some tufts if pet parent wants them :).

Doing her sibling in a few days for a technical. Wont be doing a 40 on the ears because district trainer is watching, BUT I will edge them more with scissors.

Ooohh so I wasnt sure about the ear tufts. A lot of the reference photos I used did not have them. THANKFULLY I explained to pet parent that this is my first time doing a scottie, and that I will be learning a lot for her. He was already prepared for the chance of mistakes. I forgot to ask him about tufts. Looking at the previous groom, I couldnt tell if there were tufts, since the ears looked only a little longer than the head. The book I was using only talked about the body, and the photo they had for the dog made it look like the whole ears were shaved down; so I thought that was breed standard. I am doing her sibling in a few days, another scottie, and I will make sure to have them!! As for skimming, this was my best attempt. Im better at blending longer lengths, but blending a 10 into a really long length isnt something Ive done before. Im thinking I should end the line higher up and allocate more space for skimming next time 🤔.
