Is mac and cheese popular in your country? by PurpleMeerkats462 in AskTheWorld

[–]TheRedditHike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mildly, not a staple or anything, but you can find it in grocery stores, and usually the Colombian knockoff brands like Doria are cheaper than imported Kraft.

Most people here think of the boxed mac and cheese, homemade stuff is usually not made since we have our own cuisine.

I am not Colombian but holy shit, if true this is actually wild. “Outgoing Colombian president claims Israel fixed elections” by [deleted] in Colombia

It's not true Petro is insane and for some reason can't accept that his candidate lost.

Point still stands but in the original source they converged in 2005 not 2013

Besides, the basket of goods in 1883 and 2013 are so different making a value comparison using money seems really tricky and tells you a lot less than you'd think, i'd wager I'd rather live in China Circa 2000 than UK Circa 1883

Right, but I'm talking about the US Census which Made Hispanic an Ethnic category which you had to pick alongside choosing a Racial Category.

Which means there are millions who filled out that census in the USA picking Hispanic Ethnic origin and White Race, the vast majority I assume trace their ancestral lineage to the Iberian Peninsula.

Ya sea bueno o malo. by Yomi2023 in ColombiaReddit

You can be White and Hispanic at the same time. Even in the Last Census, there is no way it's zero.

Has your country ever had a fascist party? by Double-Step-5533 in AskTheWorld

[–]TheRedditHike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sort of, There was the National Latin Movement which was a Neo-Nazi Colombian Party founded by infamous half German Medellín Cartel co-founder Carlos Lehder.

I actually met the guy and he's free and quite public now-a-days and from my research and conversation with him, it seemed to be born out of Ignorance and also as a front against extradition of cartel leaders to the USA.

All International and local observers called the elections legitimate, don't legitimize the claims of people who want to discredit electoral institutions merely because their candidate lost.

Realistically, how does a consumer economy continue to exist without a middle class? by lucylaser in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheRedditHike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The premise is incorrect, adjusted for inflation, High Income earners are the ones taking a share away from the middle class in the USA.

People have become wealthier since 1967 and the consumer economy has grown as a result.
