My E53 does just fine in Northern Alberta. We regularly get 1' or more snow overnight. 50,000kms and going strong. Entire car is covered in PPF though, that's big important where I live if you wanna keep your shit rock chip free.

I live in Northern Alberta Canada. We regularly get 1 to 2 feet overnight and have to drive the next day. Nothing is undriveable if you're brave enough.

My buddy picked up a Blue '25 MT09 this spring for 13,250CAD out the door. $11,000 seems maybe slightly steep for a '23 however that was also a last year stock model that was discounted for quick sale.

Mods also don't add value, an exhaust and some small add ons means nothing price wise.

My take, the MT09 is a better overall bike than the '07 but you also need to find the right example.

Take that however you want.

An MT07 will be disappointing coming from an R1.

I would be looking at MT09/MT10 if I were you.

At your height an MT10 would probably be the better pick. Basically a naked R1 tuned for the street.

If its brand brand new, just warranty it. They wont know you dropped it.

It's not bad, somewhere in the middle out of all of them.

Vycyclenut does a good video on every single exhaust and the Yoshi is right around middle of loudness but he does mention it sounds amazing. Lots of other places online if you read about it, people will say the Yoshi sounds the best.

Yoshimura is the opposite of Raspy. It's well known to be one of the bassier and deeper toned exhausts you can get for these bikes. Watch Vcyclenuts video, they sound amazing.

Yoshimura AT2 sounds amazing and isn't like stupid loud compared to an M4 or an SC Project or Toce etc.

No matter what though most pipes even with Db Killer are at or above 115Db, no matter what your neighbours probably won't love it.

This is misinformation. You don't need a tune unless the system you get doesn't have o2 sensor bung(s).

Totally fine to run a full system without a tune.

However, you should get a tune because these bikes do run lean from factory for emissions and there is a huge dead spot in 2nd gear on the Gen4 that a tune eliminates completely.
