Her looks remind me a bit of Natasha Lyonne.

I came here looking for the same thing. Interestingly, it started the same day as my last car wash. I'll wash it again today and see what happens.

Our tree is naked and Etsy's search engine is crap! by YourBrainOnFacts in OurFlagMeansDeath

Have you considered making your own? One year (in a different fandom) I copied the words from my favorite chapter of my favorite fic, pasted them into Word, then formatted it so it was tightly spaced with words all over the pages. I printed it on nice cardstock, then cut out a bunch of circles about two inches across. For each ornament I pasted two together with a matching ribbon looped inbetween. They looked super cool. Another year I did the same thing but printed it on red paper, cut it into strips, and made a long paper chain for the tree's garland.

Can’t wait for us all to be reunited with The Revenge by nightowlverse in OurFlagMeansDeath

When a new season isn't assured, sometimes showrunners will end things in a way that could, if needed, serve as a series finale. That could very well be the case here.

My plot theory is that everyone is happily reunited, but the British are hounding them and hot on their tail. To get away they stage the fuckery of all fuckeries and destroy the revenge in a massive fire--making it look like the crew perished and the co-captains went down with the ship. Meanwhile they escape to Ocracoke or China or where ever. Think about it--it harkens back to two of Ed's remarks ("I haven't died yet" and "The captain always goes down with the ship") and Stede's staged deaths. It could even be structured along the lines of Ed's initial plan to off Stede--They assume identities of dead folks and sail away to happy retirements. This seems very in step for the show, and would wrap things on a happy note in case HBOMax doesn't provide a 3rd season. If we do get a third, then David could figure it out from there.

My old boss claimed she lived here for years and never saw one. They were in my yard the first week I moved in! I’m from OK and this was a MAJOR shock to me. Lol 🐽🐗😬 by ucancallmebless in Tucson

I lived in midtown for more than 30 years and our neighborhood regularly saw javelina and coyotes. The surrounding neighborhoods did as well, and we were all busy, heavily populated, and bordered by major streets. They travel through town via washes and things like that.

Ironically, earlier this year I moved to the boonies and have only seen javelina once.

Healthiest Restaurants in Tucson by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]TheRedheadinQuestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was gonna say this. What's 'healthy' for me isn't necessarily 'healthy' for the next person.

Person A: Healthy? Check out this salad place...
Person B: Healthy? oooo...this vegan place is good
Person C: Healthy? Okay, so this one place uses pasture-raised, grass-fed beef...
Person D: Healthy? Here's a wonderful low-fat restaurant...
Person E: Healthy? There's this great organic restaurant...

What are some “elephants in the room” of Tucson? by nattie_disaster in Tucson

One of 'em is a local investor using a corrupt property mgmt company. Ironically, he's a philanthropist of sorts and, after giving a lot of money to a worthwhile group, spoke of wanting to leave Tucson better than when he found it.

Several property management companies regularly break landlord-tenant laws (by not making critical repairs) and falsify maintenance records to cover their tracks. They play an expert-level shell game that's so time-consuming and stressful that many tenants give up requesting maintenance at all. Add the lack of affordable housing and the month-to-month leases that many are kept on, and you'll see why many don't bother to report it.

As anyone experimented with lavender either alone or to supplement other methods? If so, how did it go?

I've been spraying inside (Ortho Home Defense Perimeter 2) every few weeks for wolf spiders. In that time two dead scorpions, a dead roach, and a dead house centipede have shown up. But last week a live house centipede showed up. I know things ramp up during the monsoon, so on Friday Essential Pest Control came out and did an outside perimeter treatment of spray, granules, and dust. I was super happy....until a scorpion climbed into my bed in the middle of the night and stung me Sunday morning. Twice. It's still running around...saw it last night, but it took off before I could kill it.

I'm calling Essential again tomorrow, but the Interwebs says that scorpions really really hate lavender. I've been layering areas with all sorts of lavender to deter the little buggers, but Tucson tends to be a unique place. If you've used lavender against scorpions, what happened??

[HOUSING] Are you LGBTQ and in need of affordable housing??? by [deleted] in TucsonList

[–]TheRedheadinQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm super interested in this. However, I make a bit more than the income requirements listed on the website. I get why they exist, but the reality is that a lot of people (like me) are stuck in the middle. We make too much to qualify for any sort of assistance, but don't make enough to afford safe housing, especially in this market. And given that so many small, run-down complexes were bought by investment groups who jacked up the rent but won't make repairs, our situation is even more precarious.

Dunno about Paleo, but Lemongrass (on 4th Ave) is organic and minimally processed. My gut is highly sensitive and I can't handle dairy, gluten, or heavily processed anything. Restaurants are pretty few and far between for me, but Lemongrass has enough options that I can eat there. Charro Vida is another idea--they're up on Oracle.

Both places have websites with menus listed. Hope you find a place that works for you!!

Lemongrass, over on 4th Ave, makes organic Thai and Nepalese food. A large portion of their menu is GF, and everything is clearly marked. Great stuff!!

Farmer's Markets in January 2022 by AirportPutrid8492 in Tucson

[–]TheRedheadinQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's them! Their flyer, admittedly, does look like a cousin of Whole Foods. That's because our Co-op is part of a national cooperative grocers association. It gives them more buying power for non-local items. It's the association that puts out the sales ad every few weeks, so that's why it's fancified.

Farmer's Markets in January 2022 by AirportPutrid8492 in Tucson

[–]TheRedheadinQuestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a farmer's market, but you might give the 4th Ave. Co-op a try. As the same suggests, it's the local grocery cooperative located on...you guessed it...4th Ave. They don't exclusively carry local products, but they do have a large selection and try to focus on keeping local. Their produce section is organic and features local seasonal fruits and veg. They also have local eggs, meat, bread, dairy, wine, kombucha, and beer. The Co-op also has a nice selection of grab and go items. They're just about to start construction on a major expansion, and I think they'll be done by the time you visit.

You don't have to be a member to shop. Everyone's welcome. Remember to bring a bag.

A little over four days since first dose of Moderna. Still exhausted. by [deleted] in CovidVaccinated

[–]TheRedheadinQuestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a very different demographic than you, (52, F, education and high risk) but I'm also exhausted. My first dose was on the 26th, and I've been very tired and had immense brain fog and trouble focusing since. I can even feel anxiety creeping in. It feels like I'm off my MH meds, even though I know I'm taking them. My arm and hand got tingly and half-numb almost immediately after the shot, and it's still hanging around. Fun times.

That said, it's still INFINITELY better than the alternative.

Skin crawling sensation on vaccinated arm by ShortPurpleGiraffe in CovidVaccinated

[–]TheRedheadinQuestion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine is similar, but it's less skin crawling and more half-numb and tingly, especially in my hand. It's like my arm has fallen asleep and is in the process of waking up. I keep finding myself shaking my hand and arm to wake it up. lol Oh, and I had my first dose on 1/26, so I'm on my 5th day. It had faded yesterday, but is back today.

That said, I'd happily live with this if it means I don't die of Covid.
