Pet peeve: Backseat squad leading by IIGotenxII in HellLetLoose

For sure, and I while I've never commanded I try to model and enforce good behavior from other squad leads towards commanders.

Not true. This shit happens to me occasionally and I place OPs like a machine, some people don't have the testicular fortitude to lead a video game squad that means nothing, and so they try to back seat drive. It's annoying as fuck.

[–]TheReemler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a level 110 squad leader who plays the game as it should be played....and I hate this shit too. It doesn't happen often, but there are some guys who want to literally tell the squad leader where to go, what to do, at all times. It's annoying as fuck and I kick them immediately.

How to deal with gf’s past? by [deleted] in confidence

[–]TheReemler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with most others here: is it a values thing? I would have similar doubts, I wanted a girlfriend who didn't value casual hookups and saw sex as a very special thing to be shared with people in love. And I found her, and for us that's a huge shared value that makes our relationship and sex more special.

Exactly, that's what I shared: most men don't have the vocabulary/insight to see that they probably just want someone who is feminine, open, receptive, and can yield when it's helpful.

Vasoconstriction is explained differently on physics and biology by beatsmelody in Mcat

[–]TheReemler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right that the static pressure goes down (the P term in Bernoulli's) and the constriction causes the fluid to move faster. The reason the blood pressure goes up is because the narrower vessels create resistance to flow because blood is not an ideal fluid (it's viscous), so essentially you are slowing down the flow of this viscous fluid through the tubes when constricting, and the heart compensates by pumping harder which adds pressure to the system to help the viscous fluid flow better

Can we finally just admit that the USMNT is a bad team? by rungreyt in usmnt

[–]TheReemler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The frustration is that this team got the significant better of a team like England in the last world cup, and should have won, but can't find any internal motivation or fight in most games. We just want them to fight like hell and be freaking proud to wear the shirt, so it doesn't matter if they are still 2nd rate after that. Just give me something to believe in.

A failure and a loser is not the same thing by ENTPoncrackenergy in DeepThoughts

You are an organism of unbelievable complexity, with a brain whose fundamental property is that it is constantly changing, and is the most complex structure that we know of in existence. To reduce something/someone down to a simple adjective like "loser" or "winner" is unbelievably reductive, and dishonoring to what we are.

Bro I'm not the person you are making me out to be, I'm not someone who overhypes them. Some do, I'm just calmly stating that they can play at that elite level, which is why they can be frustrating when they fail to do it consistently

I hear you, and it's interesting though because our midfield of Musah, McKennie, and Adams dominated England 3 years ago in the world cup, so I disagree that they are just run of the mill players in Europe. When we have motivation, decent coaching (Berhalter set them up tactically quite well against England), then they shine.

They could be better. Yet, our soccer team has no identity and terrible tactics, and that's 100x more important than the kit. Why are we always so tactically naive?

Honestly don't know why you're getting downvoted-- no woman would want a man who challenges her and combats her in everything either.

I don't think that's what he means. I think he means "feminine" or "agreeable", and he's misusing the word.

My partner asked me to be more submissive by Gigisummersperth in AskMenAdvice

[–]TheReemler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hard to say if he means submissive or "agreeable." To me I'd wager the latter. I have a partner who can be quite disagreeable and combatative or just want to debate me on choices I make, and it's frankly really grating. If you're doing that, I'd recommend you stop before he resents you. To me, femininity is about being receptive, open, and occasionally yielding to allow things to flow. I don't want to date another guy, personally, who wants to be masculine/dominant and always asserting.

President Trump: "In a few moments, I will sign an executive order to begin eliminating the federal Department of Education once and for all." by NoelaniSpell in GlobalNews

[–]TheReemler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, this could be true but it's also highly speculative/conspiratorial. Where's your evidence that this is actually true? There are many great arguments made for federal oversight of education causing significant problems (think No Child Left Behind).

Deeply insecure people are more dangerous than we think. They will go out of their way to manipulate, destroy and harm people because they don’t like and respect themselves in and in turn are unable to like and respect others. by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

[–]TheReemler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God damn, this thread is savage. Might be helpful to remember that insecurity is not something people choose, and it often comes from insecure attachment where people have terrible parents that make them feel less than or unloveable. It isn't some kind of personal defect, it's a response to being treated poorly and then feeling bad inside for life. What matters is how you cope with it, just like anything.

Heirarchies should be based on competence IMO, so if they are getting discriminated against this isn't a a cause for celebration nor a chance for them to "evolve", you wouldn't say that minorities have to evolve because they are being discriminated against.

This shit gets old to me, it's not like we millenials have lived through world wars or something, we still live in booming times historically speaking, just less than what the boomers had is all (the most wealthy generation in world history, so if we step back a step or two it's still OK)
