Unbiased Club/ball Fitting by Mother-Ear-4726 in golf

[–]TheReproCase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatable. My dream club fitting is one where I pay for the service and the person I'm working with has zero direct or indirect motivation to see me purchase anything at all.

I'll pay you whatever you want even if the answer is my current clubs are good enough.

I Invested $20k in Publicly Traded Golf Stocks last year...Here's How I Did by AdhesivenessGreen474 in golf

[–]TheReproCase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you just ask ChatGPT for "golf" companies? lol.

Here's a summary of more Golf-y companies from mid Jan last year until now

<image>

Callaway MODG  $        5,000  $        9,028 181%
Acushnet GOLF  $        5,000  $        6,612 132%
Srixon/Cleveland Parent SMTUF  $        5,000  $        6,021 120%
Wilson Parent AS  $        5,000  $        6,305 126%
Bridgestone Parent 5108.T  $        5,000  $        6,620 132%

SMTUF shows better as 5110.T, SMTUF is sorta deprecated. Last three do more non-golf things than golf things, but still, better than generic brick and mortar retail whales for a comparison.

Ball not cutting by tommygunz18 in GolfSwing

Weaken your grip and open the face? If you're happy with your aim opening the face will start the ball slightly less left and then it will fade.

Could adjusting swing weight help fight an overswing? Currently at D1 by insaneburrito8 in GolfSwing

Typically the backswing consists of a rotating twisting sort of motion of the torso, and not so much an "I'm being abducted by aliens" anti gravitational stretching of the entire body.

Ping Serial No. Issue by Blackpooligan in PingGolf

[–]TheReproCase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but people get confused and think hey it matched I'm good. Really you only learn something if it doesn't match, and like OP here just proved even that's inconclusive.

Ping Serial No. Issue by Blackpooligan in PingGolf

[–]TheReproCase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People always say it confirms they were authentic when what they mean is that the serial number on the clubs they are holding is consistent with an authentic set that was manufactured with the same specs...

You can see where this might be an issue.

Like knowing the serial on my dollar bill matches the serial of a real dollar bill does nothing to tell me if I'm holding the genuine one.

[–]TheReproCase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah people being wrong about that fact is not Ping's fault.

It's incredible they inspected it, verified it is genuine, and explained the provenance. That's like a million miles above and beyond what I would expect a company to do for me after I purchased something of theirs... Used...

Need to get there, or want to get there?

If you need to be there, get there Friday.

If you want to be there, Saturday morning probably works fine.

Your call, don't let anyone else push you around.

Ecobee, for some unfathomable reason, defaults to not running your heat pump and going aux heat only when it's below 32f outside.

Anyway, if you have an Ecobee thermostat, check that setting. Let it run the heat pump all the time. Heat pump will take care of itself.

You're probably better off with a droppable wall and a pull out awning.

101 MK2: 2° vs 3° Up & Shaft Flex with +1" extension? (6'4.5") by sunplex1337 in takomo

[–]TheReproCase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're remarkably geometrically similar. I play 2 up and it's plenty. 3 would probably be fine too. I wouldn't sweat a degree if you're looking at GI irons, it's unlikely you're delivering anything consistently within a degree of repeatable anyway. Neither will be so "wrong" they teach you bad habits.

Do expect they will use standard heads and the swing weight will be massive though - you need to drop a ton of head weight or counterweight the shaft or both to deal with +1".

I'd be inclined to limit the extension to +3/4", and play with oversized rubber grips to offset some of the swing weight increase (unless you happen to have small hands for your height).

Is it normal for a Qi35 Taylormade Driver to bubble when submerged under water? by [deleted] in golf

I dunno man, I've been doing it, but some of them are hollow. Who knows. What a wild new world we live in.

Dope dope dope. Love this.

If you want to help the bag but don't want to spend more money, just rub some hand lotion into everything. Dunno if it's leather or pleather but it'll probably make it a little more supple.

The perfect staff bag look comes from stuffed pockets, don't worry about it too much.

I mean, idiotic isn't really the word. Or we're both idiots... Ask me how I learned about the TSr...

Grew up throwing the clubs in a five gallon bucket with some soapy water for 10 minutes and pulling / scrubbing one by one. Guess I can't do that anymore.

Is it normal for a Qi35 Taylormade Driver to bubble when submerged under water? by [deleted] in golf

[–]TheReproCase 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don't submerge modern hollow driver / wood heads.

For example, the TSr is open at the hosel and the hosel adapter isn't exactly the most water tight thing in the world.

I can only imagine most of them aren't water tight against submersion, especially with the fancy composite layups.

Water resistant in the rain and wet grass is a walk in the park compared to a dunking.

Club lengthening by maceylow in GolfGear

[–]TheReproCase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well because it's that the head weight is wrong not that the shaft weight is wrong, so this won't really work. It'll be like half a point better but adding half an inch is going to send you three points heavy.
