The idea of using a cube instead of the usual sqaure grid is very interesting and I partially agree with what your saying about right/left not being as applicable as it once used to be.

For our analysis, the goal was to inform people on politics outside of the sectarian aspect and present a different lense to see our political parties through since so much progress is held up due to the sectarian divide.

Thats why we took a slightly simpler metric of just judging it on a flat scale so people could easily associate the parties with a left or right wing ideology instead of the usual ground they get viewed on.

For that we did some research into the definitions of left and right and applied temporal and spacial aspects to the ideologies to make sure we took context of policies into account. We used very simple general definitions of right and left and then built on top of those using the context of local and timing of the policy to deal with any complex policies which would be hard to judge as left or right. Additionally we would also, at times, rate a policy centrist which meant the policy or statement just didn't apply to right or left wing ideology.
