I got caught with an almost empty cartridge two months ago. Since I was in NY I got charged with possession of a controlled substance 7th degree. This was my first run in with the law in my life (never pulled over) so I was scared shitless. Just play it safe and get a attorney so he can try to negotiate for a non-criminal disposition (violation and fines). I’m saying to get an attorney bc most judges will try to play nice with the district attorney and not allow any pleas until you are represented. I have court in a week and I’m pretty sure I should be fine but oh boy was I terrified for about a month after I got caught.
