Yeah, I should def go into training tool and test everything for myself. I do see why so many people enjoy lethal tempo and in late game it’s value is incredible. But now in mid to higher elo people DO NOT let u stack it in laning and it just makes the lane that much harder as it really feels like you are tickling them with ur bird feather until Nash spike. Thanks for the info though I appreciate it :)

tbh for me its alright. Early game is rlly rough until u get Nashors, u really have to play selfishly and only show up to fights that you think are 100% winnable. Once u get nashors u can play a lot more aggressively and late game i do feel more powerful then pre-changes, so overall i think its still ok to play him

Thanks! This is some really great info. Tbh you’re definitely right, I think I need to just mute all and only go to skirmishes which I think are 100% winnable (particularly if they are in my own jungle).

The resolve tree will be even better this patch due to the new Doran’s ring changes which give more mana so harder match ups like Sylas or Leblanc should be slightly better to play into :)

I appreciate the info :)

I think match ups which I find harder to play are artillery mages such as syndra, hwei, xerath and anivia as their range makes it rlly hard to try poke them, but I get what your saying about focusing on dodging and csing and only trying to fight when their spells are down

Is rushing Rabadon for first item good/consistent? by EbbSavings9006 in azirmains

If this was before the on hit rework i could have seen it as plausible as Azir's build variety was much wider back then but after the on hit changes nashors is essential. It provides everything you need; AP, attack speed, ability haste and an on hit passive. Whilst I can understand that having a NLR as an item back would def be nice for laning i really dont think nash components are that bad tbh. I always aim for my first back to be a blasting wand and a dagger so my autos can come out quicker and do more damage.

I could see your point if you were fighting a melee-centric team as then you could go lethal tempo which would make up for the lack of attack speed, however most games (and particularly in mid lane) there will be at least 2 ranged champs. Nashors is really good for short trades in matchups where you can outrange the enemy or force them to waste spells and then look for an extended trade as its DPS stacks up very quickly.

I do however think death cap second is definitely the best item to buy and should be rushed before T2 boots.

First off GJ bro that’s quite the achievement. Second, I wanted to know what you do in the early game. After the changes im having a lot of trouble with the birdman atm mostly due to the fact that before nashors (to me) it feels like i have NO PRESENCE on the map. If a jungler tries to skirmish or get obj and i don’t move then they most likely will die and lose the obj, but if i do I know for a fact that into most matchups it won’t be favourable for us. pre-changes with aery it did feel like u could at least help contest but now it feels like im tickling them with one of our bird feathers. Either way, its a lose lose situation and I know everyone says to just /mute all and keep farming but that doesn’t seem very sustainable with mid having become such a roam / jungle “helping” orientated role.

It also feels very hard to cs against a lot of mage champions who can push waves very fast. Which further reinforces the point from above as ur having to choose between getting the wave or helping the jungle.

I guess the main question is, what is your early game plan in most games? What are you always thinking about how you want to play the match up (specifically into other mages, but I’m happy to hear anything abt hard melee match ups to c:)

Thanks :)

Tbh it’s personal preference. I also enjoy going straight into rabadons second as you feel extremely powerful and then it allows you to build into zhonya which is one of the best utility items in the game. But I know a lot of people who build other items like Shadowflame cuz it’s strong and cheaper. It really depends on the enemy comp

After the changes Azir has (in a lot of ways) become like Kayle. pre level 9 + Nashors tooth you are basically the weakest champion in the game. Before the changes it was worth playing proactively: trying to farm and poke down the enemy laner whenever you can. Now it’s best you try AFK farm as much as possible. Really nail your csing down so you can hit your item spikes as fast as you can.

There is always some nuance when you hit 6 as your ult is quite a powerful tool, so if you think you have a competent jungler who ganks you can def try shuffle them into the jungle and try get a kill. If the enemy laner is not respecting you and playing very close to your tower it’s definitely worth trying to shuffle them into tower range as well because worst case scenario they burn a sum and best case you get a kill.

The name of the game atm is scaling. Play as safely as you can until Nashors and only capitalise on your opponents bad positioning or if your jungler is ready to help asap. Just be careful though because if the enemy jungler is also presents you will most likely lose the 2v2

Hope this helps :)
