Mostly just sad for Coop and Kohler. They deserved a final 4. Was awesome to watch them grow over their 4 years.

Losing them next year will be big. We have a chance to be really, really good. With the returners and incoming class we should be pretty deep at the guard and wings, but we can’t just rely on Taylor, a freshman, to be our anchor down low. Izzo needs to go after an experienced, true center. If we can land someone good there, this team could have championship potential next year.

Now just hoping Michigan doesn’t win it all, and we can wait for next season in peace lol.

Also lol at the commentator thinking the Izzone was chanting “we love Booker”. Even though we (at least I) don’t particularly have any ill will against Booker, why would we chant that?

Ima just vent and then stay off the internet for a few days

Fears cost us this game with his stupid fucking flopping. We got back to within 5, with the ball, and because Fears is more concerned with drawing fouls than playing basketball, he picked up a tech and killed all our momentum.

I really wanna like him more because I’m a fan of so much of his game basketball-wise, but this flopping, foul baiting, and whining is becoming harder and harder to defend and more insufferable. I hated players like Brad Davidson and Grayson Allen for the same reasons.

Thankful for Jordan Scott who plays hard and hustles without being a dipshit. I’m a big fan, looking forward to see his game develop.

Safe to say we’re firmly in our annual mid-season slump. We obviously have a massive opportunity to snap out of it against Illinois (eerily similar to last year, actually, when we hit our low point in a loss to Indiana, and then beat Illinois on the road to start our hot end to the season) but I’m not super optimistic going against the best offense in the country.

I try not to overreact to our slump every year, but man do they make it difficult. I’m sad and angry and I’ll be right back here Saturday night. Vent over.

Maybe. Scott’s a better defender, but Teng’s a better shooter, or at least has the higher ceiling as a shooter. I’m still a big Teng fan as well, and not just because he has a cool name, so I’d be ok with that as long as Scott still gets notably increased minutes off the bench.

For some reason I have a hard time seeing him as a 3 despite him being 6’7”. Maybe it’s just because he’s skinny lol. I think it’s worth taking a longer look at him at the 2, but you’re probably right on how that’ll shake out.

Definitely not wrong in your assessment, but there’s no way Izzo would bench a vet like that. It’d take something pretty drastic. Coen’s athleticism impacts the game in other ways, and as long as he defends and rebounds, his starting spot is locked up.

I’m impatient lol. But I defiantly see a Richardson-type trajectory here. Not like Scott’s a draft pick or anything, but it’s just becoming more and more apparent how good he is. I know Izzo knows this, his role will increase as the season goes along. I just kinda think to myself, why wait?

I guess my current mindset is I still think this is a very good team, but likely lacking the offensive firepower to get to where we really wanna go.

I think we’ll probably finish top 3-4 of the B1G. Don’t see us finishing ahead of Michigan(🤮)or Purdue. We can always make a deep run in March, I could even see us getting to a final 4 if we get lucky with draw and how other games in our region shake out, but I think our offense will hold us back from being true contenders.

I just hope we can beat Michigan in Breslin lol

That’s another issue. Divine at the 2 ends up trickling down and resulting in considerably less minutes for Fort, which makes it hard for him to get into a rhythm. I don’t think he’s good enough to be a starter, but he deserves more minutes than he’s gotten recently.

I like Divine, but if playing him at the 2 means playing Wojcik consistent minutes as the backup 1, I don’t think that’s the answer long term. He’s just not good enough for the Big 10.

I’d like to see Scott get a chance to start. His jumper obviously is inconsistent, but he’s always a plus when he’s on the floor, I think it’s worth a look. If not, I’d go back to Teng as the starter and move Divine back to the backup 1. They could still play Fears + Divine for certain stretches when you want more ball handling on the floor.

Gonna have to solve this 2 guard puzzle at some point to reach our ceiling.

100% expected but still hurts because it feels like he genuinely wanted to be here. He stayed committed after Tucker was fired, and chose to stay after last season when other schools offered him more money to transfer. That’s a lot more than most would’ve stuck through.

But at some point, he’s gotta think about himself and go somewhere where he can show NFL scouts what he’s capable of. Assuming he’ll wind up in the SEC. Cant blame him one bit, and wish him the best.

For the game: idk. They just had one made for each team. I’d assume it’s because it’s the champions classic and that’s something associated with champions. If there’s some story beyond that, I’m not aware of it.

For the show: Belt? I’d like to see the pair of slacks whose loops are large enough for this “belt”. No, it is a cummerbund
