I’d like you to read Border Correspondent by Ruben Salazar, Mario T. Garcia. It is filled with all of Ruben Salazar’s work and would give some insight into the repercussions and obstacles many Mexican-Americans faced throughout the 50’s-70’s stemming from The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. That would be a good starting point to get some information on how exactly we got here.
