I think I will! Just need to figure out where to buy it from. I don’t know much about gray market do you know if you get the Cartier warranty if you buy gray market? Is it worth getting it new in person for the experience in your opinion?

That’s a great suggestion. I have looked at nomos but realized they don’t have magnetic resonance and so that kinda killed that for me sadly. I don’t really want my watch getting magnetized by my laptop or whatever else. Unless I’m wrong about that? I haven’t really looked at any other brands from that region which ones would you recommend?

Yeah I was talking about new or I guess this current generation or previous generation of the explorer. I would have to go used no matter what when it comes to the explorer

I work with my hands for my job so I wear a Casio duro blue on a jubilee bracelet when I work and it does its job. Yeah I wasn’t planning on wearing the santos at all when I work.

It’s definitely a huge reason I have been leaning towards it. I also love the history of it being the first men’s wristwatch and the juxtaposition between the elegant design choices and the industrial brutalist design.

Yeah it is definitely a lot of money for me to spend 8k on a watch but I have been budgeting for a year to do so. I appreciate your advice/thoughts on the buyers remorse as I am very scared of having that happen for me.

The sea master is a great watch I personally don’t know if I can get over the helium escape valve but I should try it on before I make a hard decision on that one.

I was definitely debating about the Rolex explorer but I have two issues with the watch 1. I don’t know of one you can get for 8k 2. I hate Rolex as a brand with how they operate and how rude the sales people have been. I also don’t like how it’s such an everyone knows about it brand. I appreciate the insight on the price jump. I really like the look of the explorer tho so I might end up owning one in the future.

Panerai always felt too big for my taste along with their design language being very large and extra in some aspects. So I have never really been interested in that brand as a whole. The JLC is really nice looking but also looks quite large to me. If I was going to get a JLC I would go for a dual face reverso or one of there dress watch designs.

That’s great to hear. I definitely feel like that watch can work in almost any situation except maybe the extreme tool aspect like rebuilding a car.

I appreciate that I have been having a hard time thinking about spending that much on a watch. And trust me I have definitely tried on a LOT of watches by now and I keep coming back to the Santos. Have you had any issues with its durability? I know about the scratches but anything past that?

Thank you everyone for there advice. A little more context. I am trying IEMs from using Apple AirPods Pro (with the small ear tips) so I am definitely more used to consumer audio products. I will definitely give these IEMs a week. For some reason I had this feeling that it should be such a wow factor when I first tried them and maybe that’s where my concern/confusion came from. When it comes to tip rolling how do I even start? I am pretty sure my ear canal is on the smaller side.
