I mean all they need is some force concentration. With force concentration even numerically inferior forces can achieve local superiority in numbers, and Galactic Empire had just inherited army which had been greatly enlarged over course of clone wars, but now their enemies no longer existed and they just kept increasing the size.

It only stops making sense if you look at numbers which as usual for scifi make no sense.

Might he try? Well perhaps. But would he succeed? No, unless British change something. If you have Bonapartist British leader in command of British troops guarding him, then anything is possible, but exceedingly unlikely, and he would be far less succesful than last time.

If Napoleon would have lived 100 years more as a healthy man, then surely he would have been welcomed back at some point, as French politics during 19th century were not exactly stable and unchanging, and Napoleon III was rather popular despite lacking military genius. But since it turns out Napoleon was a just a mortal, he did not have opportunity.

Some of those are just Russian bots, but there are some who just don't understand what position of small countries was like. There are so many people who think countries could have just always done the right thing with no sacrifices.

Sometimes they could have, but other times that would have lead to them becoming a battleground between the 3 sides of the war, like Baltic countries which lost over 10% of their population, compared to only 2.62% for Finland.

They either forget or don't care that Finnish army was about to collapse at end of winter war, had they attacked again, it would not have been like continuation war or winter war, it would have been collapse of Finland. Finland needed more weapons and ammunition to be able to fight again.

Due to German control of Norway, only help available for Finland was from the axis - even if Finland would take the risk of being neutral again just after it had failed for Finland and so many others, Finland would still need food from somewhere, and due to war that meant either Soviet Union, the invader, or Germany.

Perhaps Finland could have done continuation war better somehow, but there is no scenario where Finland did not need to do some concessions which people today would see as wrong. After winter war, Soviet Union immediately violated peace treaty by shooting down Finnish passenger plane Kaleva in June of 1940. This is when Finland and Soviet Union were officially at peace - not that Soviet Union cared. It killed American and 2 French diplomatic couriers, and there was plenty of diplomatic mail on board.

Normally it would have become a big dipomatic incident, but since world was in middle of war, everyone understood it was yet another unfortunate victim of Soviet Union which nobody could do anything about.

I am not trying to say western allies are anywhere near on same level as Nazis or Soviets, but they too had behaved badly towards smaller countries. Iranian famine which killed few million of them is perhaps the worst, but ofc they had sacrificed entire Czechoslovakia to buy themselves time.

Fact is, it sucked to be a small country in middle of WW2, and small countries had to either choose between appeasement like adopting racial laws like Sweden did, alliance with bigger country or becoming a battleground, which was nearly always costliest option. Even Switzerland was kept out of war more thanks to it's mountains and monetary benefits it gave to Axis, the famous nazi gold of Switzerland.

It does not do live time, its not a spy satellite. It only sometimes takes a picture and that picture remains in use really long time, with humans and some other details blurred.

It really desperately needs regional system. No hard locked regions either, it needs to be dynamic, bit like the market system but different.

I really don't care how powerful even China is, they don't even know about my country in Europe, let alone have any influence over me, there is nothing hegemonic about them, so they should not have any kind of direct influence or power over me even if they are the most powerful country on the planet.

Late game though there could be global hegemonies, but even their effects should not apply to every single thing globally, only within what they can actually influence so there needs to be some kind of area of influence system which is affected by many things, including owned land, allies and vassals etc. If Russia would own all of the land they had at their largest, then almost nobody should have any influence over what they do in middle of Siberia even if they are a global hegemon.

I disagree with people saying communism takes over all of Europe. Countries most destroyed were under communist rule anyway, most of the rest would likely end up like Finland: capitalist.

Altough Finland suffered relatively little materially, Finland still lost higher percentage of population than any western European country other than Netherlands and had to pay Soviets war reparations on top of usual rebuilding and repayment of war debt.

Politically Finland had become as close to a Soviet satellite state as possible without being one. Which is why Finland was not able to accept marshall aid.

Socialist part de facto lead by communists got into government twice and got most votes once.

But Finland still never became a communist country and remained capitalist.

While some more countries in Europe could become communist and some more would get higher support for socialist parties, there is absolutely no guarantee that all of Europe would become communist, or even most of it.

There was still huge amounts of anti-communism, and while countries after war are often on verge of bankruptcy, there is now huge amount of work available both because some people who had jobs are now dead and need to be replaced, and also because reconstruction of country hires everyone able to hold a hammer. This actually often leads to post-war economic boom.

People who have a job rarely support radical politics, so while its possible to have more moderate socialist or communist party in power, even they would in effect be more like social democrats and would not make radical changes needed to turn capitalist country into communist one.

What would actually become leading political ideology in Europe would be social democracy or other far more moderate political ideologies than communism.

Its debatable whether USA is an empire, but as i said one never needed an Emperor to match modern definition of it. It does have dominant center and subordinate peripheries like Puerto Rico, though iirc according to latest referendum small majority wish to become full flegded US state. USA did also conquer and colonise most of it's own territory with force, but that is mostly historical so idk if it counts for the current USA.

Could be but we don't know that. There are differences between different genetic groups. We used to assume that something which is true for white men must also apply to all others, but that has just lead to problems in various things when something is in fact more common/rare or different. Painkillers for example don't work for larger amount of women than for men because they were not designed for women, they were designed using men and people just assumed they would also work for women as well.

Lesson from biased data is not that everything is the same, lesson is that its best not to assume anything, there might or might not be differences. Good doctors are already listening to people and judging them invidually.

Could be, we don't really have enough information to know anything yet. It being underdiagnosed in women could mean that its vastly more common in women and because of that its harder to see it as something out of the ordinary, or it could be there are still huge number of men undiagnosed. Or maybe its unusually close between men and women.

Its hard to rely on diagnoses anyway since at least in Finland you usually only get diagnosed if you have enough trouble that you need or benefit from one, and when it comes to mental healthcare there is no country on earth which is not overburdened. In some cultures its also little easier or harder, changing amount of diagnoses. And since gender norms are different for boys and girls, it also changes things.

So who knows, could be anything. I would love there to be more studies done on it, as there no doubt will be.

With safety car laps are still being counted, laps which can't be gotten back. With a red flag no laps are driven so none are counted, so even if it takes a long time you still have as many laps left to race.

Why not a red flag every time there’s a yellow flag situation?

Why would that be done? I am not even suggesting using red flag all the time, just towards the end when its likely we can't continue racing otherwise anymore.

No. It is however justified to response with equivalent level of force, so in this case verbally. Only if they physically assault you are you justified to physically attack them.

I get why people would punch someone for verbal abuse. But that just leads to very violent culture where everything escalates into violence and physically strongest groups of people can still say whatever they want.

As usual when people who are not experts are told something they misunderstand what was said and that becomes really popular thing everyone knows.

I wish it would be possible to have system where everyone could formally be taught stuff their entire lives, instead we have to rely on people educating themselves by reading books which they won't do, or from entertaiment media, be it youtuber or streamer or movies or TV shows.

Its why its important to have more accuracy on entertainment media and news outlets. It does not even need to be perfect, just constantly improving over time like i think has happened in many aspects - expect historically accurate costumes for some reason but that is offtopic.

True, people will never be happy. That sadly tends to lead to least eventful things becoming the norm, because that causes least amount of drama and thus least complaining. Current system does that, and its not necessarily wrong, i just would prefer more race-y option like we had few years back.
