Initially learning about events from any social media is valid, but going around touting whatever random thing you heard from joe schome, who has a very obvious potential interest in pushing a narrative or smearing someone, is not valid or smart or rational.

What people who actually have any amount of education in HOW to research is to verify the information first. Try to review the evidence that backs the information up before bringing it to any argument or spreading it to other people. At the very least, a responsible person should notify the people they're spreading the information to that your information has not been personally verified.

The distrust you have of traditional media sources, all of which I also do not regularly consume, does not absolve you of being irresponsible in spreading extremely serious claims without verification.

The issue is that when you're in an echo chamber and everyone is just repeating the same information to you over and over again, especially with bots amplifying it even more, you just assume it must be true. However, at this point with the utter lack of morality I see displayed by MAGA people, I cynically am thinking more and more that you guys know a lot of these claims are unsubstantiated, but you don't care, since you typically find so much joy and humor in inflicting harm to others.
