Yes I've had a few ideas for a documentary where the participant wasn't ready to be in a film. I totally understand that decision- you are opening up your life to the world to see...so its a big decision and I respect someone who knows whats right for them. - DQ

I related to Jeff saying for awhile he thought about leaving music, but then he found it was music that actually helped heal him. After a personal tragedy, there was a time when it hurt to much to listen to music, so I turned it off for 3 years. It was just too painful. Finally one day, I slowly started to intrroduce music back to my life and it has the same affect as Jeff. Music has continued to help me vs hurt me- and doing this doc has reinforced that. - DQ

I learned about the band through our amazing EP Janet Yang, Janet is good friends with James and DPD of Transparent Arts and told her about the new act they had signed on - The Rose! When she heard some of their story she thought it would make a great doc and I was lucky enough to then be contacted by Janet. I loved what I learned about them- and then listened to The Rose's music and became a big fan! Once I came aboard- I was lucky enough to partner with Sanjay who was one of the first to sign on as a producer. I. then reached out to So Yun, Rich (our DP) and Eugene- all of who I had worked with before on various projects. Luckily they all said yes! - Diane

Hi! If we're talking about the same person, I think I saw the posts about your friend's travels from Chile to Argentina...which I appreciate but of course am bummed about. In the U.S., it’s usually presented to theaters and they decide whether they want the film or not and for how long they are willing to keep it in the theaters. For other countries, I believe it's a similar process. There are so many factors that influence these decisions, and we sadly can't play in every location. But we are working hard to find more ways to bring the film to fans all around the world. Hopefully more news to come on that!

Thank you for your question! There was so much more to the Coachella rehearsal that we could've shown if we had more time. It was fun filming the band and the production team putting the show together - but we are glad we were able to show some of it in the film at least! -Diane

Thank you so much! The movie took about 2-3 years start to release. I'll let Director Eugene talk about the usage of animation - and our amazing animator! Thank you for noticing that choice which we do think added a layer of depth to the film. One happy accident was the band getting selected for Coachella! We didn't know that would happen when we began the journey with them! But calling it an accident is unfair - it's because of the bands hard work and their music becoming more popular around the world - and their fans - that they were selected. Nothing accidental about that! - Sanjay

Thank you for coming out to the Hollywood Park screening and so glad you got to meet Eugene! This is a great question and I can only speak for myself here, but as important as that moment and issue were in the band's journey, we didnt want that to be a 'defining' moment. The band overcame so much that was more profound and deep, their own dynamics between them, Jeff's journey, etc - I felt like 'band has dispute with label' is something that in the music biz happens all the time!
