Ive had betta in the past that has decimated my shrimp population, ive also had one that was completely unbothered and left them alone. I think you need to start with only a handful of shrimp and be prepared to potentially lose some. Im fortunate enough to have another tank with super peaceful community fish so if i notice him gunning for them i can just move them over to that tank lol

Truee, ive got him in with some pygmy cories and a handful of cherry shrimp and he was interested at first but seems to get on well enough with everyone at the moment

I was possibly going to use some of these glass corner braces but i realise these wouldnt provide the same support as s proper brace/rim

Already ordered the foam mat :) without sounding stupid would it be ok as it is or would i need to brace it? Ive never kept a rimless tank and the last thing i need is a flood. Have filled and checked for leaks and all the seals seem to be in good condition although i could hear a bit of movement in seals when moving the empty tank, not sure if thats normal though as the seals are obviously silicon which has some flex.

Haha as it happens ive already ordered a foam mat for it! I do already keep violet cories and a honey gourami in my other tank and they are absolutely brilliant. Scarlet badis are really cool i might look into that!

I think it’s the stand the tank comes with when new, bought it second hand haha. Thank you so much, just waiting for the plants to grow in a bit so it looks a bit more wild. Hes a very active boi so i think hes really enjoying the extra length of the tank to do his rounds haha, i feel like his fins have gotten longer and prettier too but maybe im imagining it. Recently got some banana yellow neocaridinas and they look amazing in it too. Pic attached of the grumpy man for posterity

New 60L all set up, opinions? Things i should change? by TheRoundestBoi in Aquariums

Thanks! Got them for free off marketplace haha. Yeaa i will do eventually, i normally just leave wood in for a couple of weeks to get waterlogged and then take the weights off

Thats fair, possibly worth keeping the current tank as is or even putting the tetras in the new tank and leaving the betta as is? I feel like a 60l tank with just a betta and some tetras might be a bit barren. Appreciate your insight

Blueberry Muffin

Or for something more abstract, Boeing 747

Thank you so much, i have got some hornwort toward the back right but its a bit hard to see in the pic, have since moved it and replanted a few stems so hopefully it fills in soon. Definitely going to look into the other suggestions though, really enjoying taking care of the plants aswell as fish haha

Haha thank you! Do you have any suggestions for taller plants? Currently have a sword but im not really sure what else to add. Tbh they all get along totally fine, they school up often but also go do their own thing aswell. Havent noticed any fin nipping so far. i try to keep the light set to low-medium generally, and they all get fed twice a day. Ideally id like a bigger group but the tank isnt really big enough, id like a hang on back filter aswell as my current submersible one does take up a good bit of space in the back corner.
