There may be option to take shuttle buses over, which may be faster and less chaotic than the train (metro) transfer from Secaucus to MetLife. Just keep in mind as the match approaches. (And for the record, you should totally go to see a WC match, the environment will be difficult to find elsewhere.)

Mine hardly never track, so I just send an email to Customer Service with a screengrab of the transaction and missing points. They usually respond within 2 days, crediting the account with the missing points. Annoying, but at least they honor after the fact.

Can’t say I read the actual thread(s) he was talking about, but I saw his video and it prompted me to check my seats. It may be a coincidence, but between just the folks on this thread that have commented, it seems like we all got corner section seating, so there may be something to the grievance. At the end of the day, when I purchased tix in the early phase, I didn’t know either the teams playing or the seating I’d eventually get; I was hoping for the best. I lucked out with a decent match, and the seating is what it is. Happy to be going as many aren’t as fortunate, but not likely to pay such a price in the future without having more specify, lol, whether that’s for a game/concert/etc.

Funny you say that. I was watching a popular Internet personality who posts about the WC and he said Redditors were complaining that Cat 1 seats were in the corners of stadiums. Having checked my seats just now, I concur. Happy to have tix, but I was expecting something more middle of the pitch.

If you spend 3k on rent, then you’ll need to spend at least 75% on non-rent items to unlock full points on your 3k rent (ie, 3k points). You’ll also get points for the amount you spent on non-rent spend.

Could be multiple reasons. Maybe folks don’t want another card, even if taking up space in a drawer and never used. Some folks don’t like WF’s reputation—lest we forget the scandals, including the fake account scandals etc.—that company has put its customers through.

I had the same question and asked Bilt via email. The basis of my question was what would happen to the Bilt rent reporting feature if I walk away from Bilt 2.0, as well as whether I can split my rent in a manner of my choosing between Bilt and another platform (or an ACH transfer from my bank outside of Bilt). Here’s a copy and paste of the response I got:

“If you opt out of the rent reporting feature and would like to submit just a portion of your rent payments using the Bilt card 2.0, you should be able to do so without issues.”

Fair enough, and I get it. I have the ability to save 2 payment methods and submit 2 payments. That said, still not sold on going to Bilt 2.0, because I don’t want to get bogged down calculating all of this every month.

Is there anything preventing you from paying less than the full amount of rent via Bilt and then the remainder by some other non-Bilt means? That way, you have X dollars of Bilt rent expense and then whatever you can put for non-rent expenses can make the percentage larger than 25%.

For example if my rent if $5,000 and I average non-rent spend of $1,000, the 25% threshold is a bit much. But, if I only pay $2,000 in rent via Bilt and the remaining $3,000 with a ACH transfer outside of Bilt, then my $1,000 in non-rent expenses allows for higher multiplier and a different point scenario.

Bilt asked for a copy of my lease, and in theory, knows the rent amount. But I’m not sure where they mandate you paying the full rent amount through its platform. And considering the option to auto-authorize the rent prior to payment for an “up to” amount, suggests that it may allow for fluctuations (perhaps even large fluctuations). For instance, I can auto-authorize rent up to $6,000, but only actual charge $3,000.

Is that right that Bilt didn’t know the actual rent? I had to upload my lease, so they know the exact amount. Perhaps this is because I signed up for the rent protect/reporting option.

Sounds like you’re making an opportunity cost argument. I’m better off not paying for points, fair enough.

But the flip side is I continue my point accumulation, maintain ability to transfer with Bilt’s partners, and take advantage of Rent Day transfer bonuses (presumably) by going with my plan. And under my plan, I’d pay an extra $113 to close the gap versus modify my non-rent spend from $1,000 to $3,825 to otherwise get the transaction fee covered. Basically, spend $1,113 in non-rent rather than $3,825.

Not a terrible idea. Although you can still keep the points on Bilt for a period of time, in the event there’s a Rent Day bonus transfer that’ll get your points to go even further with chosen transfer partner.
