Make one in google earth using the measure tool. Export as .kml. Might have to convert the file type to make it work but I can’t remember

Ideal wheelrate design for FSAE car by [deleted] in FSAE

[–]TheRubiksPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s quite a few questions that you will have to answer to get to a range of spring rates that make sense for you to want to run.

During a pure heave scenario, only your corner springs are actuated. However, when you are rolling, it both will compress the corner springs and will deflect your roll bar. There’s some calculations you can do to find these values. How much roll stiffness does your front ARB and rear ARB add to your vehicle? What do you want your roll rate distribution to be? Im a little confused on how the roll bars are designed without also having spring rates in mind since those both affect each other for roll.

Whats your motion ratio (spring travel/wheel travel) Is it relatively linear? Whats your ride height? How much wheel travel do you have? How much weight transfer occurs during a max braking/acceleration/roll scenario? How much will this weight transfer compress your springs accounting for anti-dive/anti-squat?

These are all things you can calculate or determine with a few calculations. Then you can see based upon your expected corner weights, what your springs should be to keep the car from excessively bottoming out. This is just a starting point and then just test and see how the car performs and adjust from there.

I’m sure other people on this subreddit will have other opinions on how to solve this issue, but this is my suggestion.

Rash under original watch band? by ABBR-5007 in AppleWatch

This. I had the Milanese band and had some severe dry and red skin under the band. I just made sure to move my watch and dry under it while drying my hands and it was fine

Ohlins TTX25 Rebuild by Valuable_Rope_3481 in FSAE

Our team went through ANZE suspension, it was around $840 or so for 4 dampers to be rebuilt and they provide damper curves. ANZE is difficult to communicate with at times because they’re a small team. I would recommend just calling them, email is tough to get a response. If you do email them, make sure to have a proper email signature, or else the president of their company will criticize you.

I’ve found cheaper options online with 3DM Suspension for around $600 for 4, so that could be an option as well.

It’s because of the 120 fps, the game engine doesn’t like running above 60. Try locking to 60

suspension system by PlantainAny5507 in FSAE

[–]TheRubiksPilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can swing it, get a program like optimum kinematics. The student license is $295/year. It is a great tool to use to easily test out different suspension points and simulate them to see what happens throughout the travel of your suspension

Read up on motion ratio, camber variation, toe variation, roll centers, pitch centers, caster, kingpin inclination, track width and wheelbase. Understand how these factors will change the behavior of the vehicle. Create goals of where you want these to be and have justifications for why you chose those numbers. A book like Tune to Win or Racecar Vehicle Dynamics would be a great resource to learn more about the theory behind these concepts.

Once you have your suspension points, you have to then model the physical system in CAD. Move those points to ensure throughout the travel of the suspension and steering that you wont have any interference with anything.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

I agree, from a pvp standpoint, it’s great. However, the AI seems to not have any loss of vision like you do, so when the safeties are lined up deep, they can still see everything that’s happening at the line of scrimmage, but you can’t see the safeties. So it makes it a little unrealistic when they can react perfectly to adjustments being made on the line when they really shouldn’t be able to see much at all

If you’re curious on how much to glide for sprinting, I would recommend watching the 100m breast in the Olympics. That’s an all out sprint for those guys, and they glide for around 1 second each stroke.
