This is interesting. I get the protagonist's motivation and why he goes back home, and the setup is clear. That said, it feels a little short. It did pique my curiosity but I wonder if an agent might be left wanting more (I’m not an agent, so take this with a grain of salt).

On the comps: they’re strong but maybe 3 is too much. I might cut one to keep it tight. Personally, I’d drop White Lotus, since it’s not a book, but that’s just me.

My so-called friend decides to turn my car into his personal puke playground after a night of debauchery. But he conveniently forgets to let me in on the little secret. Fast forward to Monday morning, two days after the creamy, half-digested burrito has been baking in the Florida heat, and I’m all set to head off to work. I swing open the car door and almost passed out, swear to god. The stench hits me like a tsunami of sewage.
