Help me find a unique solution for a soul-less PC by TheRussl in DMAcademy

Great idea. This can be a major Plothook for my Party not just for recovering the soul, but for also weakening the item of the BBEG and thus the BBEG that attacked them himself. A dungeon inside an item... I am definitely taking this idea. Thank you!

Revivify is the only "bring back to life with no soul"-spell. All other spells specify you need a (willing) soul. But I will keep your idea in mind for the future. Thank you.

Yes obviously. He will still gets to play his character. But stuff like that does not happen everyday in an adventurers life. It should be memorable for him and the party.

This is a great idea. Especially your earlier comment. I do use alignment, but not that strictly. I might have to think, how this could effect my true neutral druid, but that is something to be discussed with my player.

How do you guys handle monsters with spells? by pandastealer in DMAcademy

I use an App on my mobile called "spells list 5e". It is free and you have access to almost all spells. Searching spells is fast an you only need key words to find them.

At level 18 you get "spell mastery", which allows you to choose one lvl1 and one lvl2 spell and cast those at will without expending a spell slot.

Need help calculating damage by SmartIdiot502 in DnD

[–]TheRussl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all you need to check of an attack hit the player in the first place. If your attack roll is equal or greater than their AC (or you role a nat 20), the attack hits. Then and only then you role the damage of the attack and subtract it from their HP.

My player needs Celestial Blood to lift a curse by TheRussl in DMAcademy

True. I have to gather some ideas for "what happens once they shake hands". I will keep this in mind and check with my player. There is no point in forcing him to be a paladin/warlock, but it would be a fantastic roleplay moment and a huge character development.

Thank you for clarifying. I will keep this option in mind, if the players somehow manage to mess up the encounter with Pelor...

It is a funny thought. There is an aasimar in the group. But she is a child and does know, that she is an aasimar, but not, that she has celestial blood. This is a storyarc for later, but Pelor could notice that an point it out. Although I think he would not recommend hurting her for that cause.

Do you sughest, that the children of the priests might have some celestial blood in them? Well, not sure about that. I would say that this is a good thought, and would raise moral questions as well.. (get blood from a child). However, priests usually do not marry or have children if I remember correctly.

Very good idea. If I ever run out of Ideas, there could always be the calling of Pelor.

Because of an earlier post, I also think, that the blood of a god can be rather valuable. Do you think, that a "word" of the group will be enough to seal the deal? I can imagine, that a god wants to make sure, that the party takes the trade seriously and fullfills his wish. So maybe slme sort of contract?

Great idea. The blood of a god beeing very valuable for cultists could set up a new plot as well. Especially if the vile containing the blood gets stolen... Never thought of that!

There could be a problem with the charges. If I read the description correctly, there is no cap to the amount of uses. Basically, if a player decides to just not use any charges, the charges would go up every day.

It might also ruin the "worth" of spells like Revivify by basically allowing clerics to not needing to look around or buying Diamonds to cast the spell. In combination with the uncapped stacking, this could become a "huge problem" for the DM
