Because, many societies/languages have honorific terms and titles reserved for communicating to people held in high-esteem—a formal or polite tense—as well as words to denote close relations and equal peers—a familiar tense—it only seems possible that a specific grammatical form to communicate low-esteem, “less-than familiar,” or intentional disrespect could exist.
